This is true, but in all actuality police are not trained to do anything like this, they are just policy pushers, code enforcers. Certainly there’s the occasional hero, but overall they’re not there to save you. Usually they’re there to investigate after the fact.

Which is exactly why we need the 2nd Amendment. The gun control crowd says we can rely on the police(at the same time trying to eliminate the police)and don't need guns. They never talk about the delay in getting police help or how many situations come out in favor of the victim because they were armed or had quick access to a gun to defend themselves.

All police officers are required to attend & pass all the same requirements as Mass State Police Officers.
It is a 25 week course given at the Mass State Police Academy.

a lot of the suburbs around here only do minimal training and let the big nearby city come in for cases like this. Or turn it over to the county.

Even before they started requiring a lot more training for most police my township got rid of them and paid the county extra to police the area because it was a lot cheaper.

I would almost expect a small town cop to charge in there and take control over the situation (or die trying) over what I would expect from some big city-- hundreds of hours of training--- type of cop would do.

If you even have the receiver and mill it yourself, you better have a class 2 SOT license.... or you are

The small towns have to foot the $3000 tuition and pay the officers for their time and supply a police cruiser , for transportation and course training.
My town also requires police officers to be EMT certified.
Which can bite into the local police's budget when an officer moves to another department.

Mostly made up of special officers from different police depts who train together.

My town is so small that we only have one real estate tax classification.
Namely because we have no industrial base to tax.
