Texas school shooting

What you can’t seem to understand is they don’t train for someone who had no intention of coming out alive. Even the swat team can’t do anything about that. They are usually trained at a hostage negotiation situation. This kid had no intention of taking anyone hostage, he came to kill and to be killed. there’s no one that could stop that completely. The best chance is someone on the inside with a gun and a shot. The only reason the kid lasted as long as he did was he had time to take cover, if someone could’ve taken a shot at him before that it would’ve been over much quicker. He was a little boy who was not proficient with his weapon because he just bought it. At best he was praying and spraying. Unfortunately once he got in that classroom it was a nightmare for the kids involved.

But the police cowered because he had an AR-15. If he had a lesser gun or a knife they would have probably gone into the room a lot faster and saved lives.

Even the police are afraid of AR-15s and it makes them less effective.

Yes, police are normal human beings and I accept their flaws and failures.

But I also understand the responsibility for adult to protect children: regardless if you are a civilian or police. I also don't put police/law enforcement up on a pedestal and worship them like conservatives do.

Lol that’s not why they were cowering if that’s what you call it.
I have two former police officers who now drive, do you know why?

Because it wasn’t worth putting their lives on the line just to be second-guessed and go to jail. One of them told me most of the situation they have about five seconds to do something.

.223 is a scary round? I would prefer to be shot with nothing but a .45 would be worse in my opinion.

A 100% tax (or more) on certain gun types, ammunition and high capacity magazines. The money from that would be used to pay police more, train them better and equip them better. In addition the gun tax would pay for armed security guards who are retired military at schools and to harden existing schools. Schools that couldn't be hardened because of their design would be rebuilt.

Yes, I know you think he could have killed 19 kids and 2 teachers with a spoon or a shoe lace. But it would have taken him a lot longer and a lot more effort. Plus maybe the Uvalde police wouldn't have cowered in the hall, not taking action if he'd had a different weapon.
okay so ":censored2: you poor people, shooting is a rich mans sport"
i'll note the shooter was using a high end AR, he could have paid a 600% tax on a cheap one and done the same thing
the vegas shooter was wealthy, wouldn't have stopped him either
and okay more hardening and officers except you're not going to get the best, we've already scraped that bucket, if you want to pump up the numbers you're getting the dregs; guess how quick they're going to be about sacrificing their lives
oh and then those dregs start arresting minorities who start fights at school (lmao), how long will they stick around when every socialist wants them fired or neutered?

anyways so now you've pissed off a hundred million gun owners, probably driven a lot of guns into "being lost" to avoid the tax, and have avoided exactly 0 of the shootings that have happened; what was the point of your exercise?

can you start to see how your kneejerk reactions of "JUST DO SOMETHING" only make things worse?

I don't want to disarm normal people. I just don't want a :censored2: ton of AR-15s out on the streets.
and your solution is to make me a law abiding veteran of this country go through hours of additional gun safety training, intense background checks and denial of concealed carry or any carry in the most violent crime ridden areas of our country.

I'm sorry you liberals lie which why you can't get what you want. You've have shown you intent to disarm us and Justin Trudeau who once said the same thing you're saying now is the most recent example.

Discussing guns does not require one be a ballistics expert.
But it does require one to have even the slightest clue what they’re talking about, and you do not. It’s funny you think those police officers probably sit around and saying oh my god he’s got an A.R. 15 the most dangerous gun in history we cannot possibly save anyone lol. Pretty sure they were more worried about the level of cover he had. But you continue on with your idea about A.R. 15‘s being something special.

Fascinating how the clueless such as yourself believe their simplistic, heavy-handed solutions will work. Where was your observation point when all this was going down? From whom do you get your eyewitness account of it?

Clueless.
