Washington State Trooper Christopher Gadd, 27, died on Saturday after an illegal migrant crashed into him on the shoulder. Santana is from Mexico and entered the unlawfully entered the U.S.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 13 Seattle, at the time of the deadly crash, Santana had bloodshot eyes and admitted he had smoked weed and drank two beers before driving.

An ICE official confirmed the suspect is from Mexico and unlawfully entered the U.S. on an unknown date. He also has a lengthy criminal record in Washington.
