The countdown to Trump Impeachment

Inordinately Right
Not exactly true but pretty much true.
The Senate was put in place so that States would have equatable representation. Size, not population, was the direct concern but certainly population was a concern since that is how House Representatives are allotted.
Ok, ya, it's sort of true lol.
But I like to look at it this way. The founders did not intend for us to vote for the president at all. They intended for us to vote for an elector, who was completely free to vote for whomever he wanted. Basically, they thought normal people were too stupid or selfish to choose the president. It's an interesting idea.

We've changed the process so much since the founders it seems rather disingenuous for someone to claim this is how the founders wanted it.

Look Who Funds The Group Behind The Call To Arms At Milo’s Berkeley Event

The left-wing group that helped organize the violent shut down of the Milo Yiannopoulos event at the University of California, Berkeley on Wednesday is backed by a progressive charity that is in turn funded by George Soros, the city of Tucson, a major labor union and several large companies.

The Alliance for Global Justice, based in Tucson, is listed as an organizer and fiscal sponsor for Refuse Fascism, a communist group that encouraged left-wingers to shut down the Yiannopoulos event.

The call to arms succeeded. Yiannopoulos’ talk was cancelled after demonstrators lit fires, vandalized businesses, and assaulted Donald Trump and Yiannopoulos supporters.

Refuse Fascism, which includes Princeton professor Cornel West as one of its founding “initiators,” defended the response, issuing a statement on its website that called the shut down “righteous.”
And on its Facebook page, the group asserted that the vandalism and arson were not “violence.”

According to its most recent 990 tax form, Alliance for Global Justice (AfGJ) received $2.2 million in funding for the fiscal year ending in March 2016.

One of the group’s biggest donors is the Tides Foundation, a non-profit funded by billionaire progressive philanthropist George Soros. Tides gave AfGJ $50,000.

Other notable donors include the city of Tucson and the United Steel Workers labor union. The former gave $10,000 to AfGJ while the latter contributed $5,000.
Patagonia.org, the outdoor apparel and equipment company, gave $40,000. The Ben & Jerry Foundation, the charity associated with the ice cream maker, gave $20,000. And Lush Cosmetic gave $43,950. The New World Foundation gave $52,000 to AfGJ.

Good. Milo is an opportunist trying to cash-in on hate speech. I say let him speak, because even Alt Right crazies have free speech rights. I think Milo should speak out in the open though. He always runs away when people start disagreeing with him.

The last three presidential elections gives credence to that belief.

Calling some one a snowflake is much nicer than saying that they are a member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party .

Because once that card is played then the thread is deemed dead .

By you, the deemer of thread death? No, don't think so. Nazi is a great word to describe Bannon, Milo, and probably even Trump, because that's the way they're talking.

I wonder if Milo and Kushner will still support the regime when they are put to death for being gay and Jewish respectively.

It will be fine

The only reason Milo went to Berkley was to illicit this type of response. It helps him claim he's persecuted so he can sell more books. Just ignore him and he'll go away.

Now that I can more agree with. It is open for debate as to what the Founding Fathers not only foresaw but even a lot of what is discussed as to their intent. If they were all here today, it might be both instructive and even surprising to see what they would think of their original choices in light of what the nationstate they started had become.

The irony may be that Milo at the end of the day got vastly more PR value out of what resulted than if he were quietly allowed to speak and move along. Outside the campus itself, it is doubtful anyone would have heard of the talk much less heard of Milo.

Unintended consequences!

They would be aghast at blacks and women voting for one thing.

I agree. It is better to let even the despicable speak, even more so out in the open. Then let them face the reaction to their words and confront the challenges that result. This is why you give a racist for example all the space they need to speak. If the racist is forced to hide, the innocent are at risk of having to deal with such person not knowing their true intent and thus can be harmed. Out in the open, we all know what the person truly is and thus those at risk of harm can avoid such person and not be harmed in the process. Would you rather not know a hacker is nosing around your business set on doing you harm or would you rather have full transparency so you can protect yourself from their intent and actions and block them at every move?

Actually Milo doesn't run away when people disagree with him. There are a number of videos of him staying put when his speaking engagements are crashed by protestors and many videos of him trying to engage his protestors in debate.

Is this hate speech when Milo says 'White pride, white nationalism, white supremacy isn’t the way to go,” he continued. “The way to go is reminding them and yourselves that you should be aspiring to values and to ideas.” “You should be focusing on what unites people and not what drives them apart,. MILO: White Nationalism is Not the Answer - Breitbart
