Get yourself a damn dictionary. If you are to :censored2:ing stupid to look up a word to understand it's meaning then you are to :censored2:ing stupid to drive a truck safely!

I'm referring to the earliest news on UPSers, Wall Street Journal and other sites. Then suddenly "UPS Rising" comes up with a 44% turnout and says it's been ratified now. I'm not the only one who commented based on the initial news, jackass. You're going to be very busy keeping up with things when somebody has to prove how a record turnout somehow now equals 44% 3 hours after announcing that the Master flopped.

Really a couple bucks an hour was more outrageous than creating an underclass of drivers doing the same thing as regular drivers except working weekends and getting $6 less per hour?
Yes, future teamsters that still make a good wage don’t vote. Existing part timers getting the shaft drove the no vote.

Just telling you the facts. You were wrong and have anger issues. You were telling people it got voted down when it did not.
You idiot, even UPSers.com considered it to have been voted down. They announced it along with the Wall Street Journal. Just because the corrupt Teamster leadership thinks it's okay to flip-flop doesn't mean I was wrong.

KILL KILL!!
I feel like the scales have tipped at this point.

Economically and labor movement wise this was the best shot we've had in a long time. A very long time.

Pure speculation at this point but here's what I see. We vote someone new in in 2021. We strike in 2022. More because of this contract and what the company will expect to be given up going forward. The economic climate will be completely different and we will be destroyed.

A majority of those who voted rejected it. That sounds like it was voted down to me. Whether it will be imposed or not is a different matter. Just semantics, really.

There will be labor charges and likely lawsuits is my guess.

I just don't see how anyone looks at that language and says it applies here.

Everyone knows that a 3rd vote is a final offer pass or strike vote. I think it's pretty clear that situation is what this language was put in for.
Well, there is no specific language calling a third vote a final offer, but that said, even UPSers.com considered it to have been rejected immediately after the results were announced. It was the first offer, and the union would have notified the membership that it was a final offer if it was a final offer. They're only calling it that now to impose it. Hopefully there is a labor board charge filed quickly. I'll file one myself if I have to. And to anyone who claims I wouldn't do it, I've filed one against the company for their retaliatory actions against me for my activity as a steward, and I'll gladly file one for this travesty. The only reason I'm even going to continue to pay dues in a RTW state is so that I can continue to be a steward and help my brothers and sisters.

It means it's gonna take 9 months for a team of $300/hour attorneys fighting against $300/hour attorneys paid by our dues!

That could happen yes but I'd rather have a voice then not. I can't argue the points that people.are saying because I'm on their side. But me personally I won't leave the union.

The union isn't Hoffa and his lap dogs. Hurting my local isn't going to hurt Hoffa and Taylor.

What. The. Hell.

Typically, the common idea is: low voting turnouts on a contract proposal would be an approval vote. Low turnout would have been favored in the acceptance of the contract.

International brotherhood of? Someone stop me while I'm ahead of myself...

Listened to broadcast and it was said we have a contract

It's absolutely not semantics. It's clearly written in the constitution. They can only impose it due to low turnout if it's the final offer. They're claiming it was. It'll really end up being up to the NLRB whether or not that was the proper call, or if it occurred because of collusion.

No, but it will hurt the union as a whole. Which will indirectly hurt Hawfa and Taylor. Maybe. They were probably paid royally for orchestrating this bull:censored2:, and won't care.

Go into your browsing history and try to send me the URL of when you were on the website and I'll see what I can do.

Problem is that they ARE going back to the table but UPS knows the rules. They will tell the Union that they are not willing to negotiate either and it's their final offer.

Then BOOM they can make us except it.

Plus all the damn money UPS and the IBT flushed down the toilet on the crap 'colored pamphlet postcards' for the yes vote...

Give some of the union members some of that money. They shot themselves three fold in the foot and still by pass us?

Dracula

Package Car is cake compared to this...
You don’t have to pay dues in rtw states. Not walking from job just giving the IBT the finger.

So what are you going to do when you stop paying dues? Who's going to negotiate your future contracts? You want to give the finger to the IBT? Fine. But remember, you ARE the IBT. You might not want to cut your arm off because your finger is hurt.

If this contract gets rammed down our throat because of the 2/3's rule, I'll be as angry as you will. But I'll figure out a way to make my anger work for me, and not blow up my own house.

UPS would love nothing more than to hear your quitter cries. If that's what you want, go ahead, put your withdrawal card in, but get the hell away from me.

I'd rather have an investigation of the leadership before even considering leaving the union. I'm invested in the union, and would rather see the people bringing it down ousted.

See, but I'm not so sure they can change their mind like that after the fact. It just stinks of :censored2: too much. It will provide more evidence for a charge of collusion.
