Another real pain. would get ripped for not doing it soon enough after a nda delivery. And seems like a time when we still on paper, was a number we called to give tracking number to a real person. Standing at a freezing pay phone doing that kinda stuff
With Rod they used carrier pidgeons to get messages to the drivers.
Was an upgrade from smoke signals!

And the old hand written card file boxes with address directions? seen drivers come to blows accusing each other of taking or losing them.
Pretty sad that many of the drivers never had to collect a COD, let alone a cash one. A year or so ago 40% of the drivers had 5 years or less seniority.

This CEO is all about cutting our volume, first it was Best not Bigger, she wants to focus on Medical packages, and doesn't want small business, business. Do you see how they basically got rid of customer service reps, to bring in business. Now she is saying Boulder, she and her executives only care about the stock price.
By cutting our volume she can cut employees, close buildings and add automation.
Our contract has nothing to do with this, if you don't think her and her goons already had all this planned before our contract. We always go down volume during a contract year, so this is perfect for them to downsize workforce and add automation, especially when there not even trying to get business.
Look what she did to Home Depot, and someone told me she just gave herself a 4 million dollar raise, not sure if thats true havent read it anywhere. Before that she was making 29 million plus bonuses, like 100,000 an hour.

We did get an historic raise, And a lot of low seniority people who complained that it wasn’t enough will be on the chopping block
But in actuality would these people just be the yearly churn that go from job to job anyway??? I know brown burns through people...not as fast as Amazon but there still is a high turnover rate here.

Honestly, I think what is meant by automation is that a lot of older, smaller centers will close because they can’t be automated. Whether or not those people can travel to the hub, the work goes to is another question some of them will have to go quite far. we’ve had an automated hub for over six years. Tons and tons of employees. Most of them stand around and do nothing lol.
You ever see their "flow monitoring" room...there's like 10 pt'ers in there doing absolutely nothing. Feet up on the tables watching a monitor.

Today the video came out with Carol saying the goal is for all inside jobs to automated. Their goal is obviously to have no employees since that means more profit.

I go into work and everyone is saying the Pleasantdale hub is being shut down temporarily for automation. I'm unsure how true this is. It's a pretty big hub in Doraville (basically Atlanta), GA.

I work in a different building nearby and we had 6 part time supervisors and 20 of the lowest seniority part timers let go. We already have half our people temporarily laid off or coming in one day a week to keep benefits. Supposedly the part timers getting let go is so that driver's being laid off can come inside and work. I'm surprised the supervisors lasted this long, we have way too many.

I know stuff like this happens, but I've been with the company for a long time and haven't seen anything like it.
Yeah, it’s no surprise, the world is moving toward automation. We as a people need to start putting our foot down or we’ll all be out of jobs in the future. If your ok with starting your own business in order to make money then that’s fine, otherwise start spending your money wisely with companies or people who aren’t doing this if possible.

Which is EXACTLY why we should have pushed for more money in this past contract. We had the leverage, a new regime, we could have set a precedent in favor of the workers. But with the help of all the union homers we have in our midst we got nowhere near what we could have. Now we’re all going to pay with having our seniority taken from us and the company will have an absolute windfall once again. Nice job SOB! Putz!
