Which is met by the attitude you’re displaying now. Christianity is under the same protected status as gays legally, if not more so than gays. My employer doesn’t have to make reasonable accommodations for my gayness same way they do for fairy tale believers. Gays barely snuck into civil rights legislation and that change happened recently and doesn’t have as much sweeping coverage as well established religious civil rights.

I've not had the "special rights" as a Christian.
"Civil rights" against gays is laughable. What "right" have you had taken away because you're gay?
The government has made plenty of mistakes. I think one of them was granting "minority"status because you suck dick. Sexual preference/attraction is not a qualifier for minority status.

The right to marry, the right to public services available to everyone else, the right to have sex in my house with another consenting adult without being fined by police under suspicion of it being a gay relationship.

All of these things have been court battles in my lifetime. All of them are things you take for granted.
