In some ways claiming religious exemptions over beards is akin to gender affirming care for straight men. Some guys just present as masculine better with a beard. It gives them more confidence and better self esteem to have their beards.
They have my support, I don’t wanna take their beards away or see management win that battle…

It’s kind of lame they would turn around and mock others or vote against their rights to the same treatment they are claiming is their rights.

Don’t be upset because white straight Christian males are the ones standing up for their rights for gender affirming treatment in the workplace.
The thought of shaving their beards causes them so much emotional distress (dysphoria) they are willing to invoke their “extra rights” (civil rights) to keep their beards.

I’m not at all. These Christians are on here crying saying lgbt people have “special rights” while I’m highlighting not only do they have less rights legally, they aren’t even using the rights they have as much as straight Christian men are in the work place.

Gender affirming care is more than sexual reassignment surgery, that’s only 1 aspects on it usually used only on adults.

Another thing, if rubber met road on this whole bearded drivers for Jesus movement, it was your job or your beard, there would be a lot of baby faced sell outs walking around the hub. If same thing happened to your lgbt coworkers, be straight or be fired, there’d be a lot of jobless lgbt people. That’s what it means for something to be a “pillar of identity” as one mod put it.

Children aren't mature enough to understand the consequences of such actions. And parents shouldn't be allowed to make that decision for their child. Plenty of cases of altered children growing up and being devastated by their situation. They aren't attracted to the opposite biological sex and can no longer find a mate and reproduce. If a 12 year old has concerns about his gender let the parents be understanding and supportive. But don't let the kid get altered until he decides for himself at 18.

That whole thing was highlighting just how quickly these straight dudes playing the religion card would fold on their beards, guarantee it would be 98-100% that shave the beard if it was between it or their job.

One has nothing to do with the other and again, if, if, if.

We had a no beard policy at FedEx for decades. Was only rescinded when the twenty something's wouldn't hire on because they didn't want to give up their beards. I immediately started growing mine. Not for religious reasons, don't know where that comes from. Point is that we put up with dumb rules for economic reasons but in no way does having a beard, for religious reasons or not, equate to irrevocably altering a child's life.

What’s really strange is I don’t know of one single Christian man who’s ever told management he needs his Beard to stay Christian. There’s some other religions that have said that, but not Christianity. most of the people who wanted to keep their beards before the policy change got doctors notes from a dermatitis.

It’s a common theme in the hub and I’m sure nation wide with new beard policy. Many when hired on were clean shaven as well. The only guy I saw get a religious exemption for beards before they were common in UPS was a Muslim driver in integrad.

Never seen anyone but Muslims and one Sikh get an exemption for beards. What Christian religious belief. demands a beard?
