Never have I said they were pure. But they were closer to the West and the world order post Second World War. Since NATO we haven’t had a great powers conflict and we’re all better for it. That doesn’t preclude problems that we’ve caused over the decades but I’ll take that over authoritarian rule any day of the week.

Let’s imagine the U.S. takes the lead and destroys all its nuclear weapons.

Would China? North Korea? Russia? India? Pakistan? France? Etc etc.
