Work with our NATO allies and draw them into a deal with specific security guarantees to put maximum pressure on Russia to behave, for one. It would be hard work and if Putin didn't wanna play make a deal then HE is left in the cold, not our European democratic friend Ukraine. If Putin thumbed his noses at us we could shovel LOTS more weapons and other aid to help put him in the stalemate corner for a very long time. It's called being ing tough.

I know it's hard work but it's better than treating Putin like a buddy and granting him refuge and awarding his aggression.
