THE TRUMP 2024 THREAD

We gave them lots of military aid in the last 4 years. That's over starting tonight. Pretty sad we'd turn our backs on a democratic country in Europe under attack by a despot.

All because Trump is WEAK and thin skinned.
Yeah, they’re very democratic. Been a minute since they had an election.. Zielinski has no problem putting his opponents in jail. And they control the media. Great democracy in action.

Is a continuation of the war likely to benefit Ukraine or Russia more? I very strongly support Ukraine but we're gonna have to settle for European security guarantees and a loss of 20% of the country to Russia. Hate it. Is what it is.
Ukraine is not going to get any security guarantee from the United States.

Should they have to receive guarantees from us?

Trump hates Ukraine for his first impeachment. His thin skin is going to get a bunch more people killed.

As opposed to sending Ukraine more money and weapons and hoping they can change the situation on the ground?

From the United States and the rest of NATO, yeah, it's the smart move for any kind of ceasefire agreement.

The U.S. and EU has changed the situation on the ground since before the war started with U.S. intelligence giving Kyiv a huge heads up on specific actions Russians were taking to imminently start the war.

They'll be no more of that. We have completely abandoned them and all of Europe. It's plain to see.

The last 2 years of military aid hasn't turned the situation on the ground in Ukraine's favor.
Just because they're fighting it out doesn't mean it's hopeless.

Is it not hopeless? Can the situation on the ground improve for Ukraine if the war continues and we continue military aid to them?

Thats the deal we made with them to give up their nukes

Perhaps they should receive security guarantees from their European neighbors this time.

Not even Obama believed that completely obviously from his statement. It’s not practical or even feasible.

On Ukraine and America’s interest:
Obama declares Ukraine to be not a core American interest and that he is reluctant to intervene in the country, because Russia will always be able to maintain escalatory dominance there. “The fact is that Ukraine, which is a non-NATO country, is going to be vulnerable to military domination by Russia no matter what we do.”—President Obama”

It’s not hopeless. Ukraine still has their country. For now. If the war continues maybe not.
