It’s good to be the leader but I get it that’s it a weight to bear. Putin desperately wants us out of the European picture. We’re fools to lose what we have.

That was the whole point. We got our way with telling them to not fight amongst each other and hey-by-the-way-use-our-system-of-trade-and-economic-growth and we'll do the heavier lifting of security. We got to put missile defense systems and military bases in countries that never would have agreed to that kind of thing before 1945.
Conservatives used to love NATO for good reason. We got to throw our muscle around in exchange for PEACE IN EUROPE which I'm sure you know from your studies of history was a rare thing.
Peace means lots of trade. Lots of trade means prosperity. Lots of prosperity means a more contended people. Lots of contented people means... more peace and trade... but it also means we tend to take for granted what all these systems like NATO brought us.
I'm sad to see people turn their backs slowly but surely on NATO as more MAGA leadership openly rag on it.

Absolutely agree. It's non-binding but a great value. We got to punch Putin in the teeth for $20 a year per taxpayer.
Remember who started the war. Putin started it and we should help finish it on our terms, which should be terms more favorable to Ukraine. Right now we're completely turning our backs on Ukraine. No aid, no intelligence to their defense effort. It's disgusting in my view.
