I doubt many retired UPS drivers will even wear a brown tshirt...lol

Actually one of the porters in my building with 40+ years in was going to retire years ago...but his wife suddenly passed away. He figured, why retire now?

Facing his own mortality would be even a bigger reason to retire. I sure would not want to work here up to my death.

It's more of a social thing...The porters are a lot like a old lady coffee klatch....lol. They play cards on their lunch and keep up with the building gossip.

Got that right!.....Dont want to retire,too early....and struggle throughout retirement,or be forced back to working some low paying job!.......but I surely do not want to drop dead on the job!

If you think about it, it's really not that bad. He's socializing with people he likes, and has a lot in common with, as opposed to staying home watching the Price is Right. It gives him purpose every day. Plus he's getting PAID.
