All I found humorous was your allusion to being a UPS driver a profession.

Good luck in whatever you do.

I may be missing something here, but ... don't you consider yourself a "professional" driver? (If not, you should - unless you aren't a good driver.) So .... what's wrong with him referring to this "job" as a "profession?"

A feeder driver in our building still in his 30 days had a roll away. Didn't set his brakes and his set rolled across the street into some trees. They fired him. He did get his job back, but they tried.
A rollaway is an Article 17 cardinal sin. Immediate discharge. I am glad that he got his job back.

Its a business decision to work on Friday.
It's a business decision to pay time and a half and double time for today? No it is not. You are losing money. You are losing a crapload of money. It is a PR decision.

Its a business decision to put an employee back in the inside who just cost the company $40K for nothing.
This employee did not just cause the company $40K. This is a company made up charge that they put on the centers books. He cost the company the amount of money it takes to fix the damage to the vehicles. Probable less than a quarter of that $40K.

And I am glad to see that you got your figures right this time.

$40K goes to a lot more than just covering some dented auto parts..but you wouldn't know that.
None of that $40K goes to covering dented auto parts. Whether it costs $1 to fix them or $100K to fix them, this mythical $40K does not change.

I know more than you think. I know that each center is given a budget and run like a separate business. I know that these "charges" for accidents makes Center Managers lie, cheat and steal so that they do not go over budget. I know their bonus is partly based on these numbers.

I know that we cannot get uniforms ordered during the first few weeks of January because the center has not made any money yet for the year to pay for these uniforms. I know that if the centers don't keep up on their supplies and don't have enough on hand to get them through these weeks in January that they are SOL because the center has no money to buy office supplies.

Should I go on?

Mr. Know it all : (we do not get a bonus)

Should I go on? Yes please do, you are showing your ignorance on a lot of items.

Read my reply in red above...and your position with UPS is what?

I know where to find it. You still get charged $40K for a tier 3 even if automotive only bills you $10 for a mirror.

Mr. Know it all : (we do not get a bonus)?

Apparently you do not run your center well enough to even think about a bonus.

AND WRONG AGAIN?

Try ordering office supplies on January 2 and see what happens.

The $40,000 doesn't account for any damages it's basically a administrative costs in dealing with accident. The higher the tier they figure the more they gave to pay in lefal fees.

I don't believe I have ever saw a sign that says U Turn allowed. Not doubting you just not where I am at.

I don't think we have any in Minnesota either but when I visit my Daughters family in Texas it seems like every major intersection has a designated U-turn lane that is marked --U-Turn Lane.
