No big plans. I won 50 bucks in the mega last night>
? Good sign? Got to have dinner with a friend I hadnt seen in ten years. I only worked a half day, so I was able to drive 2 hrs to see him, and have dinner. His daughter has cancer and is days away from dying, so I was glad we could give him some comfort.
I had many thoughts, of how I could leave a mark, all of them evil, but I digress. I was just happy, my kids are proud of me, I am healthy, I am blessed. I dont have any bad feelings anymore, just glad to be gone. I know I will terribly miss my guys, and girls, but Its not like I am dead, just moving on.
All of my buds were happy for me, a little jealous, but I honestly couldnt go any longer.
I got pictures of most, not all. and I made some of the best friends and worked with some of the best, high caliber individuals ever.
I even got a hug and best wishes from one management person, which was totally unexpected.
I feel brand new. My dog got me up at 6 am, I havent used an alrm in 8.5 yrs. I took her out in the crisp am air and thanked God, I didnt have to work outside, LOL.
So now I will have time, maybe get another dog, volunteer at a shelter, work at ups pt for beer money, lol. work on my house, work in my gardens, go visit my kids and grandkids more. Maybe take a jaunt out west with no schedule.
But for nowI am just basking in my freedom. I love ya all. thanks for the wishes!!
Fixed it!
(Got to expand the post to see what I fixed)

She got a bump in her pension check by working the first day of the year. I'm not sure of her Ohio area supplement. I think you get your six weeks vacation but lose your Option Days.
7 weeks, and 200 per month.
How much vacation depends on your full time seniority date, whether you have worked 1,250 straight time hours from your seniority date to your retirement date.
Provided you have, you'll get your full complement, if not, it will be prorated.

Either way, don't look back.
Congrats on going out on your terms.
I'm proud to know you.

No sides ... sides are at UPS, not in retirement.

You know you are really retired when you no longer care if a person was in management or Union.
It's all silly stuff that is no longer relevant.

The working side and the retirement side you silly monkey.

Congrats again Tooner.

...or you could continue to be the professional that you were for the previous 29+ years...
In the BOG that might be true, but for those who were constantly pestered about running over, not following proper methods, given too many OJS rides, and not following Orion %, along with other browbeatings, it is a small way so to speak "to get even" the last day.

Congrats Tooner!

The things that sound the best to me about retiring are being able to stay in a warm house with a good book while the snow and ice is coming down outside and cooking some extravagant meals that my wife and I never had time to make together while working.
We look forward to that also @Re-Raise. No more of "I dont have time to start this project"

Yes, this part was what did me in, who needs it.

No matter how childish ... OK.

You are retiring in 3 weeks and yet quite recently you gave a crap about ORION and say you were "forced" to work at peak......I have nearly 30 years in yet uncertain about retirement, and I could give a care about ORION (used it once)......and was never "forced" to work anything outlandish during peak. You people just kill me.
My orion never worked. Here they insist you follow it.
Good time to buy a permanent El Marko and scrawl cell phone numbers in public restroom stalls.
Now there is a thought, lol

Ya......they insisted I follow it too. Until I went out and did it EXACTLY as it was laid out......running 4+ hours over and doing my biggest delivery at 4:45pm.....just 15 minutes before they closed.
They asked the following morning what happened and I said I followed your system. My manager said....."Do it your way, your way is better". And I never used the odo again.......RDO for me!!
