IE boogeyman
Geocode is an improving technology but that’s about as far as the company seems to want to go in implementing a real life accurate system for its drivers. Correct me if I’m wrong, but nothing that I see allows for heavy traffic and every other legitimate real life event that we face that we should be given credit for. It’s a guessing game to some degree. Strong motivation to low ball us to speed us up!
average traffic is factored yes, but it's not dynamic so if there's a particularly bad day you're friend'ed

Then why are you still here?

I already explained that. I'm hear for as long as I need to be, and before I leave I intend to do what I can to make it a better place to work. Earthworms can just wriggle around on the ground, being happy with whatever abuse they're given, and ask for more.

The only reason this job isn't for everyone is because the sniveling management bootlickers who have allowed conditions to be eroded to the point that no one with any self-respect would hang around.

Just not the new drivers guys with five six seven eight years I can't do this anymore

I'm not going to ruin my life putting up with this BS

You're 100% correct
They work their people into the :censored2:ing ground…the union needs to start pushing back on these ridiculous production expectations…even though they don’t recognize production they need to get language in the contract that absolutely addresses all of this.

People are fed up… this is the contact that everyone should get involved in and say enough is enough…fair days work is one thing…running yourself into the ground is a whole other stupid story.
It's a different world right now

In this company needs a realize the new people are not going to put up with this crap

I remember being at my first stop at 8:30 😭

Because @Dragon said they won’t make their pph…but we’ll shove 1/2 of the volume through the building in the last 1.5 hours of preload just so they can save 500 bucks on labor all the while having drivers finish up at 60 an hour… all so they say they hit some ambiguous number…insane

Never said I cared about stops per hour, I want a human being to demonstrate to me what a computer says Im supposed to be doing.

In this statement you seem to care
Also a little scared
That's a great insinuation to make, but you are over thinking what I said. I want to be held to a realistic standard and not some made up standard that the orion system says I can do. And I've learned over the years working here that the only thing that scares me anymore is the abject stupidity that seems to run rampant around UPS anymore. I realize that I can't fix stupid, but its sure fun to watch the "fires" that crop up due to the piss-poor decision-making processes' that management uses.

Yes, I know I'm working late.
You are almost correct, there are a couple of other factors that figure in.

The true problem is that there is not enough time for the PDS to do all the things required for a successful dispatch everyday. Yes they may fix it in one plan for one day, but it does not carry over into any other plans, you then have to copy it into every plan to make it work.

Lets not forget when you add or move an area from a route it changes Orion solution (sometimes) and you would have to either leave the parameters the same or change them. Last but not least..dynamic Orion....and you know what happens after that.

Enjoy your weekend.
Why doesnt anybody speak up on your conference calls and tell your bosses that dynamic Orion is pure crap? Makes zero sense to scramble the list every 15 minutes. Who needs a raise when IE is running the show? I follow it when I get tired of trying to make sense of it. I'm sure IE will blame someone else but it's their circus. They created this problem.

I agree with you Coldworld, a lot of places don't get the last of the loads or a most of the loads until the last 2 - 2/12 hours which puts you up against driver start time.

TSP (2.0) is supposed to roll all that back so drivers can get out of the building earlier, get back earlier, PM trailers leave earlier and then starts over the next day.

I guess we shall see how it works starting today.
