a manager + his DM have wide, wide, WIDE discretion to hire to whatever number they :censored2:ing feel like
at NO point does Corporate have any say whatsoever
Think about what you’re saying! Right now we need at least 25 22.4’s to cover all of the rest of our Saturday routes. So based on your comment right now our center should be blaming our center manager and DM?? Dude, maybe in other parts of the country but I promise you higher ups aren’t having it. And yet if they did hire all those 22.4’s they could work in the building if they weren’t needed just like the contract says.

I always thought employees and equipment fell under the division manager.
So district just gives them carte blanche?!?! There is a hierarchy. Somebody might be giving them a number and telling them do whatever with it but it isn’t an endless amount and it ain’t enough!

Ya, I'm not playing that game.
I'm not in charge, when they shut it down I pull it.
I’m not in charge either, they have given those part time teenagers authority over me. If you don’t close it, I’m calling it in on you every single time. They can explain to dispatch why they aren’t closing the door.

If corporate was aware of half the crap my hub was pulling, heads would be rolling. If I were him, I would keep my head low and my big ass ego filled mouth shut.

You have no clue what you're talking about and what's worse I tell you how it actually is and you stick your head in the sand and say NAH UH

Okay dude yeah Carol Tome calls up your nowhereville manager every morning to make sure he has the required minimum of 6th punch every weekend

In theory the DM is supposed to follow the IE plan

In reality the DM yells at IE to change the plan until they follow him

I've literally never seen a DM not get the staffing they asked for, if they ask for it; never in years

Getting the staffing, if they ask for it, includes enough 22.4’s to cover all Saturday routes right! You said the plan is no six punch if possible.

As far as Corp and IE are concerned yeah no 6th punch

Neither has any authority whatsoever over a DM or even a center manager doing whatever they feel like doing

Fact- everything single time UPS opens theor mouth about some new initiative. we end up making even more money. Total saving plan, bump your 401k, get a new truck etc….

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
We need to define close proximity in the next contract. Don't just say "nearby" like in the last one. I saw that loophole as soon as they said it.
.1 or .25 miles within another stop

we should be able to request a printout at any time with surepost stops marked on a map with their distance to the next closest stop
