It's like now KFC is and always was Kentucky Fried Chicken. But to a generation was only known as the acronym. They tried to hide the fact for years all their food was fried. Didn't scare one person away!

Living in the Corporate world before retirement, I had not heard the term "United Parcel Service".
The Corporation name is UPS.
