Be forewarned, we have a few posters here who don't like it when wives of ups workers come here and post.

The wives who post then become then surrogate wives of these hooligans who will berate and denigrate these wife posters as a way to deal with the reality that they are CUCKOLDED husbands who wouldn't dare say one nasty thing to their domineering wives.

FACT!

Fun fact: I used the fun word for the day in my post.
Don't worry, I'll never post again!!!!!
Just wanted to make sure it was out there what my husband is going through. Do I think he would ever hurt anyone else? Absolutely not!!!!!! But I am afraid that he May have heart attack or stroke when he gets so upset. Every time we get him calmed down UPS does something to upset him again.
My prayers go out to the people affected by yesterday's tragedy. I can definitely see how UPS can push someone to their breaking point.

He filed an "excessive overtime" grievance in March. I would think it would be cheaper to hire a few more drivers than to pay OT all the time.

Unfortunately I don't think it is cheaper. Not when you factor in the costs of running more trucks.

nooooo LOL. god i love capitalism, i love being told what to do all the time, and i love making someone rich off my labor. with capitalism, there a just a few minor bumps in the road, and dont worry, it has nothing to do with how much i hate my job. capitalism is beyond question. this is freedom:

from democracy now:

The shooting in Virginia came the same day that a worker opened fire at a UPS facility in San Francisco, killing three people before fatally shooting himself in the head with an assault pistol when the police arrived inside the facility. The gunman has been identified as 38-year-old Jimmy Lam. He was wearing a UPS uniform during the massacre and had worked as a driver for the company. ABC reports he had filed an internal grievance in March saying he was working excessive overtime. Two other people were also wounded in the shooting."
I highly doubt the overtime story was the whole story...It looks like the news is reporting that was the breaking point for this guy though... but we all know better

They aren't an easy company to deal with and they do all of this by design....

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
On Facebook, I was told he was at the PCM, killed 2 management people and the guy he took work off of last night.
Not everybody that kills people "have a history of mental illness". He snapped and purposefully took it out on the ones that :censored2: him off.

Prayers to everyone involved in that building.
Someone that would kill someone because they had to work late has some serious mental issues. Diagnosed or not who knows.

And I wouldn't say he snapped. Snapped is a heat of the moment deal. Catch the wife cheating kill her and the guy. This guy thought about this all night. Planned it out then went through with it.

W/O reading through 24 pages of post's do they know why he shot fellow drivers? Surely that can't be due to excess overtime?

I read that he was estranged from his wife and living with his children. Single parenthood and OT might have pushed him over the edge - especially if there are worries about custody issues and time in the evening with children.

If he felt like he might lose his children because of his job he might have felt like he was going to lose his life anyway.

As a retired package driver I am dismayed by the crap talk about some sort of justification
for this POS coward. He shot drivers not management. I have worked this building and 2 other in local 278. I have in the past turned in a preloader for theft. Saw him putting pkg's into his car. Did not hesitate and told people I was the one who turned him in. Take some accountability for your actions. If you see or hear something say something. This coward was a crap driver who was filing 9.5 because he was 1.5-2 hrs over. That = crap driver. No allowance is that off. A real production nightmare who needed help, couldn't handle bulk, late air, etc. A shop stewards nightmare. Don't mention his name as he does not deserve any recognition. Please remember ALL our fellow brothers and sisters in our thoughts and prayers.

I stopped reading here. You should have stayed on to go into management with that mentality.

Ah another wimp driver who believes hard work and the fact that it's not 8-5 job!! You must be a dream to drive next to. Need a lot of help? I bet you do. Hate that $30+hour job. Go find a non union job rookie and when you have 27+ as a package driver and a clean 6135(someone else can clue you in on that) then we could have a conversation. However I doubt you will make it as any one from the 80's can tell you; 'you will never make retirement'
