RNO made us money...ECT probably is not
i never expected the dividend to drop from $.68 cents to $.443
that is why ECT has stock has not done well from the declaration to the EX date

friday i sold 200 shares of ECT in my 401k at a (-$231.98) loss
i still own 650 shares of ECT in my Scottrade.com account...down (-$569.18) all my RNO profit gone

the EX date is wednesday May 15th for ECT
if ECT doesn't start to rise Monday i have to sell my last 650 shares

your smart thinking by adding more @$12.15 will cut down your losses
my advice is to get out of ECT before losses get to large if the stock keeps going down
i'm hoping the stock rallies on monday because the EX is getting real close but i have no confidence it will

i feel bad i couldn't add your RNO money but as you can see i have lost money also
will update monday

anytime it's under $13.50
next cash distribution announcement July 25th...a long time away
use extreme
patience
best to buy in increments if buying early

i've always said RNO is a stock that gets played...maybe the players are starting to move the stock
lower to run it up later

i'm with you...we need to do homework and read earnings call and look for anything
that lowers the dividend...i don't see it but we need to stay on top of RNO news

May 2, 2013 RNO reported missed earnings by -$.10 cents or a (-$45.45%) surprise
that didn't happen last time we traded RNO

i imagine an online book will let u bet on if the maket closes up or down everyday
bet yes on tuesdays

The UJPSX fund I mentioned has now doubled since when I bought it earlier this year. (woohoo). I did keep the ECT and didn't sell it (I put in an order to sell some at one price and another at a higher price). However, for the one at a lower price I mistakenly put in an order good for one day only instead of good to cancel. (oops). I'll get the dividend and see what happens with it. I think the shock of that one article is wearing off and if necessary I'll hold for a bit and wait for another dividend. In the meantime, I have a sell order in at a reasonable strike point. My Ford stock is also doing well today (it's also giving a dividend too (granted small)...

So are the trading and account fees reasonable in the SMA? I am starting to feel lazy with all the cash you are making. How much time are you putting into this SMA?

About 10 years ago I almost did the SMA but the trading fees seemed over the top at the time. Maybe its now time to take 50k and play the dividend game in the SMA.

Re: UPS/Teamster 401k...Prudential to a Dreyfus self managed account...+22.86% for 20

My 401K SMA is with State Street (not sure if the teamster plan is different). When I buy 1K shares of a stock, it costs me $9.95 and $1.50 in fees. For a total of $11.45, if I buy a lot more the fees go up.

So the fee works out to slightly more then a penny per share of the stock for each transaction (buy\sell). I agree with what you said though, a while ago the fees were really high. Also, at one point I physically called State Street for the trade and those fees were huge. Make sure you do it electronically to reduce the fee cost. Also, if you utilize a "DRIP", I haven't seen any fees associated with a DRIP with this account.

There are no fees associated with the dividident reinvestment plan. The fees when you buy/sell are fairly reasonable. Our SMA used to be with State Street but is now with Dreyfus.
