There is no good reason to strike this time around. Everyone is getting something out of this contract but if you guys want to be the contrarians that's you're right too.
You are correct in a roundabout way; everyone is getting something, since with one strike-out of language, a whole bunch of non-drivers are going to be targeted for gps or technology related offenses

But that's why they structured the contract the way they did. Target certain groups to get the Yes vote because of the pathetic turn out we usually get.

Been the plan every contract for decades, that's how the PT disparity happened, they bet on human nature. They rely on the idea of, "works out good for me, I'll vote for it." They've studied who turns out and pander to the voters, just a microcosm of national politics.

I'm one of the old guys and I voted no. If we let this contract pass it will be bad for all who follow. I can't do that to you. We have fought for better contracts with better protections for all. Not just one group, but for all. I don't care if I get a raise, I don't care if the pension increases...it is nice but... when you have a watered down contract being push by both the union and the company somethings wrong. For the pt folks they are getting ripped off on wages, but that's not the way it is presented. RCPD have the language that says "if work is available" and the 22.4's got the entire shaft. it's bad, read it for yourself and make an overall decision. They are trying to divide us into separate groups so we will be selfish and vote yes, while screwing someone else. Why not lift everyone up and get a good contract?

Just curious why you think there will be a 75% no vote? At my center its 85% yes, and the other 4 centers in the local are also yes.
Dude you are a part-time stup get real. It must suck spreading Company/sell-out IBT lies. Drink a cold beer while you debate on pulling the trigger. It’ll all be over soon...

No, 25 year driver. I know people don’t want to hear it but all 4 centers in my local are a yes vote.

Curious Laguna, how do you feel about the company getting involved in this vote?

Serious question. I'm not trying to start anything.
Honestly every contract I hear management tell the members to vote “yes” and “it’s a good contract”. (I remember arguing to them years ago that the split raises was a bad idea) They always promote a yes and always will. Maybe it’s more this time but regardless it’s irrelevant to me. I rely on my local 100% for good information. There is accountability on your local to give you accurate information or they can be voted out. This is why I have always said a yes or no vote depends on a regional supplemental and riders. The Union is our representative in negotiations not UPS or some guy on the internet. It’s all about accountability!
