while you may have a hard time equating a revenue increase to a tax cut the opposite definitely did not happen. revenues did not decrease after the tax cut. 1,5 trillion in 2017, 1.68 in 2018, 1.71 in 2019. dip in 2020 covid.

consumerism is a natural result of the advancements that come with mass industrialization , improvements in logistics etc. Our ability to manufacture , move and sell goods more efficiently. The term is sometimes thrown around as if it is a representation of greed but it also reflects a better standard of living.
