No proof need for this discussion you can just share what you believe.
You ever wonder why when it comes to God that anyone can believe anything and it will be right, and all right with God because they simply believe it?

No proof needed, of course.

What?
Would it help if I added the word personal and relationship you?
I call God my Father, I call the Creator of the Universe, My Father.
Pretty personal.
I get it.

I was referring to when in post #505 when you stated

“Not sure what you mean by the question, but I guess my heart was receptive to those truths, while others close their hearts upon hearing the same thing I did and go their own way.

I was just hoping you would share in a personal way about your receptive heart.

That’s all, no worries!

I don’t think you do get it.

The question is, where did you get the truths that you said you were receptive to?
How do you know God loves the world and you?
Please answer.

The only way one can know God in a personal way and have a relationship with Jesus is to have it how they want it. Not you.

If it’s not according to their will ( the Bible) you can feel, you can believe, you can experience all you want and claim all you want, and guess all you want.

Where did you get that? How do you know that for sure?
I was first convinced of God’s love for me by a counselor at a rehab.

I believe it by faith.

There you go. Spot on. No proof needed. What ever you believe about God,
This is not a Bible study, this is a discussion on the BC. I believe individuals should be able to share is the most personal, informal way.

You are entitled to prove out everything with Bible verses as well.

I hope you feel welcome to be yourself but in my mind it is just not necessary for the purpose of this thread.

You were the one who said the following quote:

“Not sure what you mean by the question, but I guess my heart was receptive to those truths, while others close their hearts upon hearing the same thing I did and go their own way.

Again,
I was just hoping you would share in a personal way about your receptive heart.

That’s all, no worries!

Come on...You can do it
Where did the counselor get the truths he shared with you that you were receptive to?

Yes everyone is entitled.

The most personal way to share for me is what the Bible actually says about things.

You started this thread by asking Bible question. Biblical questions and topics need to be answered biblicaly

I don’t know. I didn’t ask.

If that works for you that’s great!

I didn’t really intend it that way but I can see how you would see it like that.

The truth of God’s love for the world and His creation originates in God.

The Bible is important and useful for teaching these truths of God.

We agree that God so loves the world and God loves you and me, correct.

How do you know it originates wit God?
How do you know God created?

When you say God loves the world do you mean the physical world?

Is the Bible useful and important for such questions to teach these truths or the final authority on these truths?

"And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry. But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

What translation ESV?

How long you been reading the Bible?

Yes.. It’s a good one.
A hundred years... you?
A local Church that I attend went from the NIV to the ESV a few years back.

I started hearing the Bible read at mass before I could even talk, started personally reading it in 3rd Grade.

I figure that makes it about 50 years that I have been reading it on my own apart from having it read to me.

I know the concept was brought up on this discussion thread. I just thought I’d share I received a copy of the book “Red Letter Revolution” today.

Looking forward to reading a little more about this topic. I forget who brought it up but thanks!
