Full-time jobs are keyYeah I see all of the added responsibilities that the FT Porters and car washers have. Plus the 22.3 FT members working in the Hubs and Preload.
Why would the company hire $40/hr FT Union members when the company can hire $15/hr PT Union members with no benefits?Full-time jobs are key
Well maybe those part-time people working full-time hours deserve to get a full-time job.Why would the company hire $40/hr FT Union members when the company can hire $15/hr PT Union members with no benefits?
Oh I do agree all of the PT Union members working FT hours do deserve FT wages and benefits. It is just too bad the FT Union members will not support the younger members. It didn't used to always be like this. Paying PT members the same wages as FT members encourages the company to create more FT jobs.Well maybe those part-time people working full-time hours deserve to get a full-time job.
Something for you to sleep on
True, but then noone would go drivingPaying PT members the same wages as FT members encourages the company to create more FT jobs.
No one? Making $30k/year working PT or $100k/yr working FT means no one will go FT? History proves you wrong. Plus can you imaging how much easier a drivers job would be with a dedicated preloader who shows up everyday. A preloader can make or break a drivers day. Lately it breaks his day.True, but then noone would go driving

The reason PT don't go driving now is because the company is hiring 40, 50 or 60 year old woman and hard core unemployable young men just to get bodies in the door for a couple days.True, but then noone would go driving
RPCD STYLELet’s get real... they been doing that for over 40 years. It could be that when the Company started to go for an all part time workforce the Union let them ... remember back in the day the part timers paid full Union dues same as a full timer...the International at that time may of been looking at collecting 2 or 3 times dues by working 2 or 3 part timers in what should of been a full time position.. it bite them in their asses later on.

It started 40 years ago but even at $8/hr wages were triple minimum wages and preloaders were paid $9/hr along with the contractual wage increases every year. I never believed PT starting wages would stagnate for 30 years and UPS Teamster jobs would be competing with McDonald wages.Let’s get real... they been doing that for over 40 years. Just to be clear....Oh I do agree all of the PT Union members working FT hours do deserve FT wages and benefits. It is just too bad the FT Union members will not support the younger members. He doesn't have enough seniority to get a full time bidJust to be clear....
You willingly chose to stay part time for over 40 years with this company, right?
And you choose to often do the job of a full time driver, helping the company avoid making a full time position, right?
Kind of hard to take you seriously when you're the problem.
45 year wait to go full time?He doesn't have enough seniority to get a full time bid
I’d only have 15 to go.45 year wait to go full time?
You start driving at 65I’d only have 15 to go.
Actually it really is none of your business why I choose to stay PT for the last 45 years. Yeah Atlanta has a conference call with my Ctr manager every morning about how many FT driver jobs can we eliminate across the country by having me help out a FT driver a few times a month having a bad day. Get real.Just to be clear....

Rookies...45 year wait to go full time?
Nice deflection on why the company is increasing minimum wage PT jobs instead of creating more FT Union jobs. Except for two tier delivery driver jobs.He doesn't have enough seniority to get a full time bid
