You just want payback once before you retire for how you've been treated by a Company that provided you and your family a very good life. And you're about to retire with a very good pension from this same company. Yes, that is thanks to the Teamsters. I want this Company to thrive and keep providing great paying Union jobs.

If we, as Teamsters, the greatest Union in the world, have a choice to bail them out or let them fall on their face? Sorry, I'm Union through and through. I'll do what's best for the Union, even if I have to make a small sacrifice.

After peak.

He knows UPS is in a bind. He knows that if he enforced the no 6th punch now, the Union may pay dearly in the end. He's hoping to get through the next 3 weeks flying under the radar and then enforce the no 6th punch when UPS isn't slammed with peak deliveries.
After peak is too late. People here already feel like the contract doesn't matter. Our members cohesiveness and faith in the union are waning daily. If that is the plan he should tell the membership now instead of leaving us guessing.

Do you need an air compressor or tire gauge
You're intel is incorrect.

I'm not cheerleading anything. UPS dropped the ball in the 60 days they had, but here we are. We cannot go back 60 days. So the option you're suggesting is to screw UPS, make them pay. Screw the customer, who cares? Nice.
You think I am attractive

When ups dosnt need 6 punch we will enforce 6 punch
Aka “I’m union through and through”

Did it ever? UPS always did what they wanted until it was grieved and they were forced to abide by the contract. New language here. Same old same old applies.

Our members cohesiveness and faith in the union are waning daily.

It still beats the alternative. Without a Union, well, I think you know the answer.

If that is the plan he should tell the membership now instead of leaving us guessing.

Then SOB would have to make a commitment, one way or another. If nothing else, he is also a politician. He wants to get through the next 3 weeks and then he will come out and lay down the law, per se.

It's new language and UPS had 60 days to figure it out. I am backing the Union in extending that 60 day period because there are not really any alternatives. Union through and through, you're damn right.

There are alternatives.
You just don’t like them.

It’s not like officially endorsing UPS breaking the contract sets a horrible precedent, or anything.

You’re making a lot of unfair assumptions.

A simple one is they could have hired the 20% of seasonals they decided not to. 100 driver planned centers are working 80drivers in these areas. Do some simple math
80driver x 65hrs each = 5,200hrs
5200hrs / 100 planned drivers = 52hours

Right now in my area the company is working sups on Saturdays claiming they are exhausting all options and they need to work because they can't get enough volunteers.

My local has told them that's BS. They have the ability to hire as many seasonals as they need for peak. If they under staffed that's their fault and not exhausting all options.

Company just doesn't want to hire and as always expects the union to take the short end of the stick to help then out.
