ask an IE anything

I have a theory that negotiations between Tome and O'Brien were done well before the deadline. And Carol allowed Sean the platform to seem like he was a hard ass to take it to the deadline. Reasoning is that he will take less while it looks like he squeezed the company and they would both benefit if it helps with organizing Amazon and lesser extent Fed-Ex.

Do you guys talk about that at all, or does nobody care? Or am I just a crack pot
I dunno about the details but my understanding from the director chatter was that the big numbers were agreed on much earlier than publicized

Alright here's another question for @catstalking

Why do I have 1 or 2 stops in a neighborhood that is clearly the guys next to me route. And the guy next to me has the whole neighborhood?

I know the easy answer is those 2 stops are on a same street that's on my route. But why can't that system or ui you guys use make the distinction that those stops should be on the other driver?
100% your dispatcher; it MAY be that breaking them away onto a street you already have disrupts them more than you, but it's still on your dispatcher

Literally never seen that ever. I think you're trolling.
It happens. Do you deliver a bulk stop or early am’s and then come back to the building and your Diad has to update with the packages that were scannned whilst you were out delivering said bulk stop and am’s?

I believe the company was just desperate to settle before another strike. The company could have settled a month earlier at less cost if they had just kept negotiating.
the negotiations never stopped, typical liberal thinking theater equals reality

Why did our center use almost no helpers and a few pvd’s when in recent past, and as long as I can remember (35th peak), we had almost as many helpers as drivers?

No? What are you, an air driver?

oldngray

nowhere special
there are ground double trips that go out and deliver the first bulk and usually some EAMs while the preload is still running; it's not common but they're out there
Those routes can really suck. They leave early in one truck to deliver bulk then come back to get another truck with mostly residential after the other routes have left and they get stuck with a bunch of off area left in buildings the sups are trying to hide.

When they were first introducing the new diads in our center in October 2022, there was a tech guy in our building for a few days to help troubleshoot. I asked him how long until the kinks are worked out and he said, with a straight face, "give it about 2 years and the system will work flawlessly."

He was drinking Starbuck's and looked like the drummer from Weezer, which didn't surprise me for some reason.

He seemed to recoil at the site of burly, crass middle-class RPCDs who didn't go to college.
