pretty sure you would feel the same way if the train that will now deliver that oil was going through your back yard.
The Dakota pipeline when diagonally through my state and there was no economic benefit. All out of state workers and contactors for the Summer. No way there were 8,000 Union workers on that job. Their numbers are vastly inflated.

There were 1000 who were laid off. The up to 10,000 often cited were future jobs.

All you need to do is to look at is where the SPAC's are headed. Straight for EV's and EV charging stations.
Now why are they doing it? Forward looking guidance includes the projection that internal combustion engine car production will end on or about 2030 and all internal combustion engine powered cars will be off the road by 2040.

Like it or not the cash is flowing toward clean energy technology. And just as the coal regions now have to try and adapt the oil patch region needs to begin diversifying it's economy in preparation for the day when it's time comes.

you're arguing with the union that is employing them on the job? what number of unemployed high paying union jobs is an acceptable loss to you?

Why would they be unemployed if they are working on other projects. Like building pipelines carrying US oil to US refineries instead of cheap low quality foreign oil?

you're arguing with the union about the number of people laid off? why are you defending the loss of good high paying jobs? Does being a liberal mean you have to be cold hearted too?

Newf: This is 2021 not 1956. The move is on for the US to become the global leader in carbon free technology. The lessons of 1973 have not been lost on US policy makers. The people of our generation will likely not live long enough to see the move to carbon free technology reach it's full potential. But, as long as the money keeps flowing in that direction the movement will continue to gain speed.

Hhmm, you truly make no sense sometimes. Low quality oil 😂. You get oil is oil. It is the refinement process that creates different kinds of oil. Smh..
