@rickyb might not have to send his kids to a private Islamic school anymore if he and the Muslim gf move to the UK.
what did this guy actually do to make him bad for education?

Probably nothing if you've got a Muslim gf and want to move to the UK.

"Sir Hamid was previously headteacher at Tauheedul Islam Girls' High School in Blackburn.

While he was in post at the 800-student state secondary, it became one of the first schools in the country to encourage pupils, in its school rules, to wear a hijab outside school as well as in the classroom.

The guidance also noted students should 'recite the Koran at least once a week' and not bring in stationery which shows 'un-Islamic images', like pictures of popstars.

The school was criticised in 2010 for allowing a Saudi Arabian cleric named Sheikh Abdul Rahman al-Sudais to pay a visit to the school, after he had described Jews as 'pigs' and prayed for God to 'terminate' the Jews."

OK, have to turn off the trolling here. Imagine Ricky if the head of a strict private Christian religious school in the U.S. was put in charge of the country's public schools. That's what is happening in England. That's all well and good until he starts demanding students adhere to HIS personal beliefs. You wouldn't be defending him then if you felt it was unfair to kids who were Muslim or Hindu or atheist. Or believed things as Christians that he doesn't.

He promotes Sharia law in his school and has had a Muslim cleric come speak to the kids who has said some pretty vicious things. That's enough red flags to make his appointment concerning.
yea its kinda like allying with israel except he only spent 20 minutes with the cleric whereas america has allied with israel for decades and repeatedly invited the leaders to america, and you gave weapons to support basically something similar to what hte cleric called for.

it doesnt sound like anyone was forced to be religious.

he might be a bone head at education anyways, despite many of his schools being considered excellent

school is the matrix and so is religion.

All of that first paragraph has nothing to do with whether he should head the country's school system or not.

do the people that head your education system support israel?

they probably do.

you just complained about a cleric supporting genocide. well look at what you support. i agree he should not have invited that cleric.

again i dont see where it said he was forcing religion on his students. if youre at a religious school then maybe the school suggests religious stuff. some schools force you to wear agent smith clothes. do you have a problem with that? at a public school i was forced to not wear a corona extra shirt. i would still do it and just cover my breasts where it says beer haha. i used to go to a christian daycare. im sure they were teaching us about their pathetic attempts at christianity, and it wasnt islam LOL

You didn't see where he encouraged the girls to wear the hijab outside of school as well as inside school(where they were required)? That the girls were told not to bring images of pop stars to school? Have you ever known young girls who didn't love pop stars?

it says encouraged.

in this case, its an all girls muslim school.

for pictures of popstars i cant tell if it was a suggestion or not. so what? its a more conservative school. some schools are more left wing. many popstars are junk anyways. my dad used to not let me listen to music with swear words. because he correctly understood it was dishonest and commericialism.

theres schools which are more or less conservative than others. agent smith dress codes which are forced. do you have a problem with that? do you think schools have the right to tell students they have to wear school uniform? im against it personally bc i think people should wear cool political fashion ideally. and it looks like conformity to me.

i forgot to complain this is the daily mail total junk tabloid news source. should tell you something how intelligent we are as a species.

If it was a Christian school telling girls they should not only.cover their heads at school but everywhere else you would go apoplectic. Big difference between having kids wear school uniforms and females being subjugated. If you think conservative Muslim men don't treat women as possessions then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.

it says encourage. you keep thinking it says forced. schools force kids to have dress codes like school uniforms in the extreme example. i am against this. but i hear no comment from you. so it sounds like youre in favor of schools forcing school uniforms but against muslim schools encouragement not forcing to wear a hijab.

we dont have a good history of how we treat our own women. i know people who are sexist. so i agree islam could be better but so can other religions and cultures for that matter.

Oh my gosh you're obtuse. If the Muslim schools have the girls wear uniforms for school just like Catholic schools or high end prep schools that's fine. But the hijab is a covering that is forced on Muslim women in conservative areas. I'm betting your girlfriend's family isn't conservative. You have to understand the insidious nature of Islam and what it does to women. And you don't understand nor do you want to understand. If you did you wouldn't equivocate Islam with Christianity. There's a reason why Japan, for example, refuses to allow Muslims to move to Japan. Saves them a lot of grief.

maybe the japanese are terribly racist haha

i dont see the difference between a hijab and a school uniform being forced btw which this school is not doing according to the article, its "encouraged". you didnt really answer that in the part i highlighted.

No, it requires it at school but encourages the wearing of it outside of school. In Muslim countries it's required. Even Western women when traveling through very conservative Muslim countries put on a hijab to prevent trouble with authorities or from being attacked by local men.
