During the pandemic, Ivermectin became hugely popular among anti-vaxxers, many of whom were taking and recommending the veterinary formulation of the drug, rather than the one designed for human use. While ivermectin for humans is used to treat serious illnesses like river blindness, it has repeatedly been shown to be an ineffective treatment for COVID-19.

And according to the Missouri Poison Center, ingesting large doses of ivermectin formulated for animals has a long list of side effects, including seizures, coma, lung issues, and heart problems. Veterinary ivermectin is not a cure or effective treatment for COVID, the FDA has repeatedly warned, and is highly concentrated because it is designed for large animals like horses and cows. “Such high doses can be highly toxic in humans,” the FDA cautions.

Your article cites what the FDA was saying about ivermectin as of 12/10/2021:

"Currently available data do not show ivermectin is effective against COVID-19."

--------------------------------

On the other hand, this is what the NIH was saying about ivermectin as of 8/3/2021:

Ivermectin: a multifaceted drug of Nobel prize-honoured distinction with indicated efficacy against a new global scourge, COVID-19 - PubMed (nih.gov)

"Abstract

In 2015, the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine, in its only award for treatments of infectious diseases since six decades prior, honoured the discovery of ivermectin (IVM), a multifaceted drug deployed against some of the world's most devastating tropical diseases. Since March 2020, when IVM was first used against a new global scourge, COVID-19, more than 20 randomized clinical trials (RCTs) have tracked such inpatient and outpatient treatments. Six of seven meta-analyses of IVM treatment RCTs reporting in 2021 found notable reductions in COVID-19 fatalities, with a mean 31% relative risk of mortality vs. controls. During mass IVM treatments in Peru, excess deaths fell by a mean of 74% over 30 days in its ten states with the most extensive treatments. Reductions in deaths correlated with the extent of IVM distributions in all 25 states with p < 0.002. Sharp reductions in morbidity using IVM were also observed in two animal models, of SARS-CoV-2 and a related betacoronavirus. The indicated biological mechanism of IVM, competitive binding with SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, is likely non-epitope specific, possibly yielding full efficacy against emerging viral mutant strains."

Lots of legitimate medical-use drugs can kill someone if taken in the wrong formulation or dosage. So which agency are we supposed to believe regarding ivermectin?

He posted an article from Vice, you’re trying to combat a tabloid nonsense, new site that he posted with actual news and evidence. That’s not what his role here is.

Could the truth be that ivermectin formulated for human use was very useful in other countries against Covid but the veterinary version available in the States was dangerous? And the pro-vax crowd instead of allowing use of drugs found effective overseas just sneered at its use here as a horse drug? So in hindsight it looks like proper use of the drug would have saved lives and both sides were guilty of bad science.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Just like hydroxy chloroquine, which is proven to be effective in preventing and treating covid, you only have to look to Africa where it’s widely used as an anti malaria drug, and where covid cases are low even with a low useless vax rate. The pharma companies knew that there’s a federal law which states that if an effective treatment for an outbreak already exists, like ivermectin or hydroxy chloroquine, then you cannot push a vaccine like they did. Hence, they wouldn’t have been able to make billions in profits. It really is all about the money. This country is owned by tech and pharmaceutical companies, among others.

And the crap Trump went through for suggesting its use. I have never understood why they ridiculed Trump so much yet were super behind the vaccines that Trump got passed through.

Now you know. The lie about hydroxy chloroquine was especially egregious. “It’s dangerous and useless” When actual data refuted that. Plus it’s been in use for over 60 years, used daily by people with Lupus or as an anti malaria drug, no ill effects. And it would only require a week long course of treatment for covid anyway. Lying, greedy bastards.

Don’t forget both the medicines in question are super cheap which would hamper pharmaceutical companies from making billions

The raccoon dogs did it! 🙄🤣

New COVID origins data point to raccoon dogs in China market | AP News

Genetic material collected at a Chinese market near where the first human cases of COVID-19 were identified show raccoon dog DNA comingled with the virus, adding evidence to the theory that the virus originated from animals, not from a lab, international experts say.

“These data do not provide a definitive answer to how the pandemic began, but every piece of data is important to moving us closer to that answer,” World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Friday."
