Coronavirus

UPS and the Union are going to be one of those businesses that isn’t shutting down until coronavirus hits the company. That philosophy hasn’t worked well for other business.

You think the results would be better if people avoid treatment for fear of financial ruin?
I don’t understand your response to my comment, the universal health care model is being tested in Europe right now and it’s failing epically,we are going to find out how our health care system holds up in the coming weeks/months

None of the major couriers are going to shut down. The transportation of goods (national and international) is "Numero Uno" in a "Natural Emergency".

Just study the strike in "97"..two weeks of our inactivity was affecting the national economy and destroying the capabilities of the other couriers, we are a lot bigger now.

Forget about layoffs, all people on board. These projected testing kits and toilet paper, etc have to be transported by somebody, Santa and the elfs only works in December...

"Work Smarter not Harder" and protect yourselves, it is really up to each individual, and any victim rights entitlements has been temporary suspended. We are all in this together...

If you’re uninsured a corona virus test will run you $3k up until recently when the government said they’d cover it. If you are positive, treatment can run $10-20k. Uninsured people are not going to get tested and they will delay treatment until they are near death. This will increase the death toll and infection rates. There is no benefit to our system in this pandemic scenario.

But, but, you said to just wash your hands! That the flu is much worse!

You’re still more likely to get the flu. You will be fine if you wash your hands. That doesn’t change the economics of our healthcare system.
The flu's death rate is a fraction of this. No one calls the flu season a pandemic. At some point when there are tens of millions of cases you may realize the exponential rate of spread occurring and why this is so concerning to health experts. And we live in a country with an extensive health infrastructure. Hasn't really blown up in India and Africa yet but the potential is there to see hundreds of millions of deaths.

The last flu pandemic was in 2009.

Ok,can you explain why the universal health care system in Europe has failed those that it is supposed to protect, that’s been my comment from the beginning and you haven’t addressed why that health care model is imploding

The virus overwhelms the hospitals. There aren’t enough hospital beds or ventilators or doctors and nurses to handle the massive increase in demand. What part of our system do you think will make the outcomes better?

I don’t know ours will be or won’t be better,no one does yet,my question was why is the universal health care model failing as bad as it is,they had every bit of warning to prepare for this,I’m on the fence with universal health care but what I’m seeing now so far in the face of an outbreak isn’t winning me over,my observation is that it’s communism 1,unversal health care a big fat 0
