cases are important too because people survive but have long term problems.

I guess it depends on your goal. If you think you can eliminate the virus then it makes sense to want to drop the cases. But you remain vulnerable to future outbreaks and you have to keep locking down.
If your goal is to return to normal then you should be ok with the spread among healthy people, since the virus will run out of people to infect (vulnerable people will have to choose to isolate themselves or not).

well i havent heard too much but i assume the idea is to keep cases down until a vaccine comes out. thats when you return to normal. we should start asking how many superbugs are coming out, are they increasing, and why? ive heard 2 people complain about unsanitiary animal agriculture practices, and 2 complain about labs that create these bugs. maybe we should stop spending so much money on war, and stop giving a few people all the money, and start making better use of the money we got.

i wonder how long these countries i listed have to lock down for? if they start soon then its a shorter lockdown id imagine.

i liked your deaths per day. its interesting to see which countries have figured out how to bring hte numbers down and which ones havent.

what percent of hte population has long term problems from covid after they survive it?

i think a big problem is the creditor class wants to be paid. so the govts should have done something about that. its not fair to average joes to lockdown and be expected to pay the banks every month. one could argue average joes didnt save for a rainy day, but you cant just blame them as banks were allowed to lend more money against housing which drove the prices up.

I totally agree with you on the war money. Thank you for acknowledging that lockdowns are costly. It is too early to know of long term complications but I wouldn’t make costly decisions based on problems that may or may not exist. As for waiting for the vaccine, I am not optimistic there will ever be a safe and effective vaccine for the virus.

Poop Head

Judge me.
213,543 dead Americans, 7.553+million infected. Yesterday’s big news was the President who called the virus a hoax has been hospitalized, by that hoax. He was seen walking to Marine 1 with himself and anyone within 50 feet of him was wearing a mask. Very strange optic for the Clown President who has denied the effectiveness of masks since he made that political. Trump is under a cocktail of drugs, none of them are hydroxychloroquine. Other news is the red states are starting to rise up the charts in total deaths. Texas has moved into sole position of second place.
862,000+ abortions last year.

What do these people stand to gain in your conspiracy theory?
Let me get this straight-I say that I believe lockdowns and mask mandates are costly, dangerous and the wrong approach. And you call me a conspiracy theorist to discredit me.

What do these people stand to gain? They believe they are saving lives and are just trying to do the right thing. Or maybe they are too afraid to reverse course and admit they may have been wrong. Regardless of why, they are doing us harm.

If we let them, they’re going to keep making us wear them.
People who misguidedly think they are helping us by deciding who gets to do what.
Politicians, governors, the general public who buy in to sacrificing freedom and snitch on neighbors.
Mask mandates cost literally nothing.

El Correcto

god is dead
Michael Powell, a current New York Times columnist, called Berenson’s coronavirus ramblings “appallingly obnoxious...in a moment of maximum pain for so many people” in a Tuesday tweet. He added, “There is a path to raise questions and there’s another to be an :censored2:.”
And Michael Powell chose to be an ass.

I should have said mask/social distancing mandates.
I can’t play sports because of mask/social distancing mandates. My job has become 5 times as uncomfortable because of masks. I can not take an airplane comfortably anymore. There are those with medical conditions like my mother that can’t grocery shop without harassment. I haven’t been to church since masks have been required because it is extremely uncomfortable to me.

Possibly, but maybe not. We’ve never been successful at making a Coronavirus vaccine before.

Those that want to wait for the vaccine that may never be, should feel free to isolate themselves. Let everyone decide for themselves.

Masks have had no impact on my life. It helps not being a snowflake.

That is fortunate for you. But that’s not the case for everyone.
You obviously care about others losing their lives, but I haven’t seen yet that you care about others losing their livelihoods or quality of lives.

That would be incorrect. If everyone actually followed the public health guidance our economy would be better off. If people wore masks and didn’t pretend they were lizard people mind control more livelihoods would be spared. I hired many people during the pandemic. I currently employ more people than I really need because unemployment is so high. I eat out about 10 times more than I did before the pandemic to keep restaurants alive. I get haircuts biweekly when I used to go 18 months to help keep the local barber in business. The economy will never be healthy until the virus is contained.

Mask mandates cost literally nothing.

Ha! Cost nothing? That's rich! I mean, sure, it doesn't cost anything to tell people they must wear a mask, but enforcement costs. Lack of compliance costs. Purchasing and maintaining masks cost. Taking the time to wear them and change them out properly costs.

That is actually a step too far for the enforcers, not even they care enough to make sure people are doing it properly. Or that employers are providing time and enough masks for employees to use masks properly, defeating any point mask mandates might have ever had if masks were effective against virus spread to begin with.

Cleaning up filthy masks that have been carelessly discarded costs. Carrying out manual labor with decreased blood oxygen levels costs. Kids, who aren't the greatest with hygiene, being forced to wear masks and not being given guidance on wearing and changing them out properly who end up with staph infections on their faces cost.

That's just the stuff off the top of my head.
I guess you could say mask mandates don't cost anything, if truth isn't important.

trumps decision to ride infected with Secret service affects those agents. prime example why he shouldnt have been allowed to make that decision.
