18 Trump rallies have led to 30,000 COVID-19 cases: Stanford University study

"A new study from Stanford University found that 18 of President Trump’s campaign rallies have led to over 30,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and likely led to over 700 deaths.

Researchers examined rallies held between June 20 and Sept. 22, 2020, only three of which were held indoors.

The researchers then compared spread of the virus in the counties that held the rallies to counties that were on similar case trajectories before the rallies occurred.

The authors concluded that the rallies increased subsequent cases of COVID-19 by over 250 infections per 100,000 residents. They found that the events led to over 30,000 new cases in the country and likely resulted in over 700 deaths, but recognized that the deaths were “not necessarily among attendees.”

“Our analysis strongly supports the warnings and recommendations of public health officials concerning the risk of COVID-19 transmission at large group gatherings, particularly when the degree of compliance with guidelines concerning the use of masks and social distancing is low,” the authors wrote in the paper. “The communities in which Trump rallies took place paid a high price in terms of disease and death."
It’s a shame we don’t have accurate numbers or in some cases even allowed to ask people infected with COVID if they participated in the burn loot and murder riots across this country.

So that’s 2 people that will sneeze in someone else’s face and we are wondering why mask usage is so poor and the virus is spreading uncontrolled. I think we have the answer and that answer is selfish stupidity of our population.
The absurdity of your logic(?) renders it meaningless.

Everyone remember a few months ago, when many right-wing dopes were predicting coronavirus would end on Election Day? All of you who posted that theory are going to look foolish Wednesday. Being a right winger is a mental illness.

You are right it won't end after trump wins tomorrow. Hell the protest are probably going to become more violent, but no corona cases from them.

a family friend died of covid. she was old, not being careful, had symptoms, didnt social distance and found dead in her home.
I recently watched Midsommar. The pagan Harga have a really eloquent solution to problems such as nursing homes, medicare and social security. When their people reach a certain age, everyone gathers around and watches them jump off a cliff and try to face plant into a giant rock below killing them instantly. If they miss the rock below and survive, three people walk up with a really big wooden hammer and take turns finishing the job. The names of the dead are given to newly born children and the cycle of life and death continues.

It got me thinking about the Grand Canyon and how to solve America’s elderly problem.

Sounds great until it's your turn and you suddenly realize you aren't so selfless after all.

The new Massachusetts state slogan will be changed to NO FUN ALLOWED.
