I asked first? My goodness, are you a child like dido?
Child? It's called back and forth, give and take. It's how adults converse. When you said we should do everything in our power to push back on China, it seemed a relevant question to ask of you included war as part of everything in our power. All I wanted was clarification of your view, but I didn't mind giving you my view.
Tariffs don't work, we pay them. We need a better foreign policy. We haven't had one since....?
I don't mind paying an extra ten to twenty bucks for my electronics and textiles if it means putting the squeeze on China and boasting jobs in the US.
Invest in Africa, help others, open immigration up, provide higher education to the smartest immigrants, show them how great America is and let them take those ideals back to their home countries. Lead by example, not by force and bribery.
I like the idea of investing in other countries, especially our neighbors, so their citizens don't feel the need to leave their homes to come here for opportunities. But we tend to just give money away instead of investing.
Just hoped you woild expand on your previous statements.
I don't want to go to war with a country that can afford to lose a billion people and still have more people than we have.
I don't want war either. But investing in Africa and deporting democracy doesn't exactly sound like everything within our power. I like Roosevelt's philosophy of soeaking softly and carrying a big stick. I realize it goes beyond defensive strategy, but the best way to avoid war is to be the best prepared for it. As for the number of people in China, I'm not all that concerned. They have what, 1-2 million trained soldiers? All of whom are coddled only children. They would have half their soldiers shooting the other half after they start deserting when the shooting starts. Most of the rest of their population is soft urbanites, and impoverished farmers. If they started throwing untrained people at us, they could double the length of the great wall with the pile of bodies they'd have laying around. Plus, India has no love for China, they could help even out the numbers, I'm sure.
