Let’s ad closing up smaller facilities that lead to daily service failures when you have 10 1030 stops leave the building at 930 and drive almost an hour when you used to drive 15 minutes which results in 9 out of 10 stops being late and this happens 4 out of 5 days a week!
I am hearing 5 to 7 centers closing here in Michigan. We are 45 minutes from the closest center, I am sure with that defer delivery they can make it happen being FedEx does our area from that location. I know of only a couple that opened after 2008 and expect them to close, unsure of what other locations may close. Is anyone seeing or hearing in the other states?

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
If the public onlly knew what was going on in the shipping industry they would change shippers. I NEVER recommend UPS anymore. I've never had a problem with FedEx Ground or the post office and with them I don't have to wait until 7-8 o'clock at night to get it---UPS sure isn't the same outfit I worked for.
I can tell you the only reason ups is still doing fine is because FedEx and the post are so brutally terrible.

That hasn't been my experience as a small residential shipper/receiver. I've had GREAT service out of FedEx Ground and the USPS. I very rarely see anything shipped UPS anymore and when it is I don't get it until late at night. I get FedEx stuff usually by 9:00 a.m. and USPS stuff by noon ---all in the same time frame as UPS would take.

All of our rural shippers here stuck with us every after rural deferment because at least they know we will show up. FedEx just picks up whenever they want.

Post office is fine if you don’t care about tracking at all or you package just randomly stopping for days along its route.

In your sliver of the world it may not be true but across the board FedEx and usps are terrible. That’s not really up for debate. It’s a fact. It’s what’s allowed ups to drop their standards so low and yet still somehow be the most reliable.

I had two medical packages delivered last week. One came Fedex, one UPS. Fedex arrived quickly and when they said it would. He even rang the doorbell. UPS--for a week I was getting notifications--Your package is coming Tues. Sorry your package is coming Wed. Actually, it's coming Tues. Sorry, we meant Wed. Finally came Wed but I don't know what time as they didn't ring the bell like they used to. Luckily, we had someone coming to fix something who found it out in the heat and brought it in. The delivery notification came a few hours later. This is the complete opposite of how it used to be for me.

I get horrible service from USPS. Regularly I recieve mail from blocks away. A neighbor a block away gets my mail so often that I have given them my phone number so they can call me and I will go pick it up. Fed-X does a good job getting the packages to me. Amazon also does good. UPS gets the packages to me the few times the shipper uses them. None of them ever knock or ring the bell. When I get an email saying to rate the delivery I give 3 stars and always say it would have been 5 stars if they would knock or ring the bell. Why are “all” the drivers not knocking?
