Better than black marking pens. All I know is before I retired they were automating my old building with automatic PAL labeling system(so someone doesn't stand there putting labels on). It was a complete failure. I think they abandoned it, tons of money wasted.
My old preload manager was always pissed because they were testing this system trying to get it tuned in meanwhile shutting down two of our offload primary belts, constantly having to shut them down during preload I thought he was going to have a stroke.Better than black marking pens.
I’m told it really stinks having 30 plus year guys never leaving. It would really suck to have low seniority right now

We have a person manually do it. Some do good fast, some good slow, some bad fastBetter than black marking pens.
And eventually when we do get busy again we're not going to have the workforce or the equipment to deliver the stuffI’m told it really stinks having 30 plus year guys never leaving.
Oh well. It’s gonna get better. Volume drops people quit and the newbies panic.
That’s where OT comes in. Saves pension hours keeping upu out late. And eventually when we do get busy again we're not going to have the workforce or the equipment to deliver the stuff
You can only push your workforce so hard especially during extreme temperaturesThat’s where OT comes in. Saves pension hours keeping upu out late.

This job isn't worth anyone having a stroke. My old preload manager was always pissed because they were testing this system trying to get it tuned in meanwhile shutting down two of our offload primary belts, constantly having to shut them down during preload I thought he was going to have a stroke.
He's long since gone now and couldn't be happier. This job isn't worth anyone having a stroke.
Tell me about it. Did irregs for 8 years. Waiting on spinal surgery now.Irregs are always an open position but they can wear you down.
So you watch your own belt shrink is what you're saying?Lots of jobs where people stand around and watch a Belt. Honestly,, most people don’t even like that job because it’s boring and the day drags on and on.
Belt tender, mind, numbingly, boringSo you watch your own belt shrink is what you're saying?
Sounds like anything on the Hallmark Channel. Why do woman folk like that stuff?Belt tender, mind, numbingly, boring
I hate it so much. I hate standing in one spot for hours. At least with loading or even zipping up the bags at smalls I’m moving.Lots of jobs where people stand around and watch a Belt. Honestly,, most people don’t even like that job because it’s boring and the day drags on and on.
Automation brings in an entire new set of problems. Like I guess more tenders will be created. The machine isn’t perfect and it jams all the time and breaks down.If they are automatic why do they always have now hiring banners outside the perimeter fence and up on the buildings??? Thought this "automation" was supposed to wipe out the union ranks?
