Does your church reach men well?

So I've traveled Europe extensively, and what I noticed over and over, it doesn't matter what country or Catholic church your in, there is a Bible at the back of the church on a lectern. This bible is typically 500 years old. That copy was for the literate amongst the flock. The paintings and stain glass and the preaching was for the common folk.

Nothing to see here.... Move along.
Can’t argue with that! I agree.

@The Profit,

What type of church do you attend?
Catholic but not the local diocese parish. Not looking to modernize to make it hip for every new generation. Traditional Latin mass crowd.
I have my judgements but I'm not looking to judge. If you have an honest heart that's looking for the beauty and goodness of God's creation I'm confident that "He" honor's your searching.

An independent Catholic Church?

Read revelations. The big book is ok, but study scripture too. Don’t rely on priests to get your biblical knowledge.
I love the Bible, I read it and seek to hear from God through these sacred writings.

I don’t adhere to Sola Scriptura theology, I think Prima Scriptura theology is more in line with the purpose of Scripture in the life of the believer.

The problem with many churches today is they are lukewarm. They don’t preach the gospel. The conform to the world. They will be spat out
What’s the gospel? Some random stories the “church” picked out hundreds or even thousands of years after they happened? All while pitching loads of other stories they didn’t like.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

The word of God is infallible. We may not see it right away but in the end it’s proved

The word gospel is derived from the Anglo-Saxon term god-spell, meaning “good story,” a rendering of the Latin evangelium and the Greek euangelion, meaning “good news” or “good telling.”

There are different theologies regarding scripture.

I believe Scripture is useful for teaching but I don’t believe it alone is exclusively useful for teaching. I believe there are non written things that are useful for teaching as well.

Sounds about right. Picked out the good stories. That told the story they wanted to tell
