but the motivated and persistent are not rewarded. the american dream has always been a myth for segments of the population.Nothing sad about it ... the motivated and persistent should be awarded ... it's the American way.
Oh yeah, you are not American, I forgot.

UPS isnt hiring for that many peopleThey should work at ups then, since you think they can’t get ahead on their own.
Still have that VW?I got you beat ... I worked 3 part-time jobs and went to Ga Tech as a full-time student while I was married with one child.
I had a VW Bus with a mattress in it and I would catch naps between classes.
Many may have your work ethic and will wash out.UPS isnt hiring for that many people
if it was the american economy would be alot better, although far from perfect
Wish I did!Still have that VW?
Or Option 3. Have a really good work ethic but choose the wrong horse. Work very hard for them but they slow pay raises to a bare minimum, strip your benefits. After 30 years get out wearing a barrel because you think surely it'll improve soon, remembering glory days. And accept that yes, got in early enough to do ok, but quit after first 11 years because of lack of raises, then returned to get reamed like all other new hires. Learn from mistakes, take what you can get, look for alternatives after leaving, do ok. But will never do as well as a union backed UPS driver so don't waste your time if you're just starting out and go with the union.Many may have your work ethic and will wash out.
1. Have a good work ethic, gross 100k a year free medical, dental, vision, legal benefits. Plus 9 weeks paid time off. A 401K option. A 70K+ pension after 30 years (depending on when you started). and a little savings (*10-20k or more) given to you at the end. Have a boss you rarely talk to, and retire, start a new career @ 52.
* depending on market conditions.
2. Have a poor work ethic, and hopefully earn $20 an hour with little benefits, and 1 or 2 weeks vacation. But you think you have a say in your work and life, while you work until 67. Having to live in a trailer on SS.
Complain about everything, listen and donate to millionaires that bring you down. Quote their lies and half truths on internet boards.
I prefer number 1. Where I can control my future. Have a better lifestyle, and have other endeavors.
