I had no expectation you would understand ... sort of the point.
BOP Statistics: Inmate Race
New slavery for African-Americans or people in general?

Interview Highlights
On the number of blacks in the criminal justice system

"Today there are more African-Americans under correctional control — in prison or jail, on probation or parole — than were enslaved in 1850, a decade before the Civil War began. There are millions of African-Americans now cycling in and out of prisons and jails or under correctional control. In major American cities today, more than half of working-age African-American men are either under correctional control or branded felons and are thus subject to legalized discrimination for the rest of their lives."

I agree War on drugs is bad, but stopping the civil rights movement? I think black panthers were anti-drug, I never saw martin Luther smoking crack either.
from the same article:
On President Reagan's war on drugs

"He declared the drug war primarily for reasons of politics — racial politics. Numerous historians and political scientists have documented that the war on drugs was part of a grand Republican Party strategy known as the "Southern strategy" of using racially coded 'get-tough' appeals on issues of crime and welfare to appeal to poor and working-class whites, particularly in the South, who were resentful of, anxious about and threatened by many of the gains of African-Americans in the civil rights movement."

Socialism isn’t all bad. I just think it’d be safer to pursue those types of policies on a state level. It’d be easier not to bankrupt the nation and hold politicians accountable.
yea just like there are good things about capitalism. keep what we like and get rid of what we dont like.

alot of people have problems with that last sentence LOL

just give it time, there will be more socialists in america.
There are quite a few here already, millions of them.
The reason you don't hear about them is because they are not involved in solution discussions and sure the hell not involved in the actual implementation of developed plans.

i agree with you about the millions of them part.

you might be reading the wrong news sources. DSA tweets are usually retweeted more than most other tweeters. i always see them posting photos of them meeting up / protesting / etc.

True, how can you work towards solutions with all the finger pointing? Yes, that applies to all of us but he's taking it to another level.
I agree with what you posted but there is still room for people like rickyb in the discussions.
Probably not any room in the actual implementation or the real world.
I feel sorry for him because he will always be looking from the outside never being involved in the actual solutions to the world's problems.
It's called a discussion forum.
That be true and the reason I said there is room for people like RickyB.
My suggestion was due to your complaint about rickyb.
I personally respond to him when what he states is factually wrong ... like 90% of the US Stock Market being owned by the top 20% of Americans.
Every high school has at least 20 or 30 people who think like socialists.
They either figure it out or become English teachers.

.
i still stand by that fact.

show me some more reputable sources that say its not like the rest of the economy lol

i mean if (wrongly) believe that the economy is pretty equal, then your stock market assertion would be kind of logical

I think I am reading the best and most optimal sources ... hopefully, the same ones that the achievers and movers in the world read.
Why do you think they are protesting?
Because they are not involved in solution discussions and sure the hell not involved in the actual implementation of developed plans.

A bit morose.
Obviously, the two party system is the real issue.
A third party could change the dynamics and disallow the 'railroading' of spending and social laws when both houses of Congress and the Presidency are controlled by one party.

The Dims and the Repugs suck when they are in charge and both increase the size of the National Government and increase the National debt.

Thanks for letting me share.
Butt, you bring reasoned thought and levity constantly, I'll always regard your posts and appreciate them.
I hate that I have this opinion of the direction our country is heading. After all it is your's and mine and the Constitution was instituted to direct the path. The path in my view has been skewed for so long that it is gone. I hope beyond hope that each and every person on this forum can say look at the Florida :censored2:, how could anyone be so wrong. I don't see it changing for the better. We are and have been fundamentally changed. All Obama lovers can thank him for his part. I don't blame him, he just drove the last nails in the coffin.

Butt a third party helps nothing, it just assures one of the big two will win. Obviously just my opinion, which is worth what you paid for it.

Have a good first of the week, whether you like it or not i'll tell you to have a good back half later.

My advice, stop breaking the law.
