Does this kid need a will smith special??Why are you voting to strike? There hasn’t even been a contract proposal yet. I hope you crash and break your femur today.

I spoke my mind so mine probably never made it to the ivory tower. They have to remain clueless to what really goes on in the trenches.pretty sad no one is writing serious responses and suggestions ..no wonder they treat us like a bunch of little babies.
Why bother? It's a charade.pretty sad no one is writing serious responses and suggestions ..no wonder they treat us like a bunch of little babies.
In general, UPS takes advantage of everything and will just cut routes if this is allowed..Three truths:
1. In general, drivers want less work (less stops).
2. In general, managers want drivers off the clock as soon as safely possible.
3. In general, part timers quit because they need full-time hours.
The solution is SOO obvious... Let part timers deliver stops out of their car after the preload goes down, or before the twilight sort starts.

Nope it's a bad idea and it should never be allowed. It's the PERFECT solution!.. At least bring it up at the next contract negotiation.
Not if you make language in the contract for it.In general, UPS takes advantage of everything and will just cut routes if this is allowed..
So no
So really what you're asking for is PVDs. What language do you propose so that it's not taken advantage of?Not if you make language in the contract for it.
Put reasonable limits on it. How hard would that be?... No part timer, or collection of part timers shall absorb enough work to cause route cuts within the center on any given day.So really what you're asking for is PVDs. What language do you propose so that it's not taken advantage of?
Too many moving parts so I'd say very hard. Also what about air drivers? Do we allow PVDs to deliver air?Put reasonable limits on it. How hard would that be?... No part timer, or collection of part timers shall absorb enough work to cause route cuts within the center on any given day.
What of those driver's what their OT?If I'm in charge of dispatch, it's easy... Grab the 15 heaviest routes in the center on any given day and cut stop from them to the part timers. Boom.
