That UPS made a lot of money. They can't go around saying they can't pay their employees anymore money then turn around and have record profits. They'd get murdered online.

I think they’re screwed either way. They release earnings and can’t cry poverty. If there is a strike, then they release earnings then they still get blasted for having recorded earnings and not paying employees, thus causing the strike.
Their only way out is to settle it and then release it so they can just carry on.
