Paid almost that in state alone claiming 4.

Maxed out ROTH 401k in October. I'm not in a situation where getting an extra 200 now vs tax time is going to change my life one way or the other.

Compare the percentages of withholding to the week before.

They don't tax it more than any other check.. they just WITHHOLD more. All of your yearly income is taxed at the same rate. UUGGHH

You're giving the government an interest free loan. Adjust your withholdings. You'll owe the IRS come April 15th, BUT you should at least invest (wisely) or collect interest the rest of the year..
