Actually @Brownslave688 is right. It does help.

I've never had an argument with my wife over money. Ever.

But then again it helps to have a strong marriage as well.

That might not be your area of expertise Dave.

I disagree.

During the latter years of our marriage we were grossing nearly $150K combined.

We still argued over money, although that may have been the result of other issues.

She said I was difficult to live with it. Can you believe that?

Just had management announce mandatory Saturday 6 punch for Xmas eve. In years past it was on a voluntary basis...... shop steward said just work..... I'm asking if they can really force a 6 punch for a holiday..... thx

That's fine they can force you, I'm trying to find in the contact where they can force a full time driver to work, and then not pay him for 8 hours Quite the contrary, it's says somethings to the affect that if you're full time and get called to work you get paid for 8, no matter what day it is.

Read a bit closer and you will find it is only a 4 hour guarantee.

We have a ton of grievances filed over this Saturday B S. I can't wait to see what trick they will pull Christmas Eve

I'm not saying 150k isn't a good living but it's not exactly don't have to worry about money figures.

This is the clause that UPS says they can force employees to work Saturday.

Central Region Supplement

Article 12 Section 9

If an employee is required to work a sixth (6th) and seventh (7th)
consecutive day at the Employer’s request, they shall be paid the
appropriate premium regardless of the established work week.

If so, the following is the section that says you have the right to request 8 hours.

Central Region Supplement

Article 12 Section 7

Each full-time employee put to work shall have a daily guarantee of
eight (8) hours of work. Any full-time employee reporting to work
and not put to work shall receive six (6) hours’ guarantee. The guarantee
may be broken by request of the employee using the appropriate
company code.

Read a bit closer and you will find it is only a 4 hour guarantee.

And where would this be?

I believe 4 hour guarantee is for P/T, and 8 for full time. (your supplement may vary)

I don't know why everyone is upset about being forced to work Christmas Eve , you should pity those that will be forced to work Christmas Day .

Its a shame I won't be feeling well enough to drive that day.... vertigo again.
I lost my DOT Card for that .
Still have Positional Vertigo .
Makes doing any type of work very interesting , worst day yet was hauling lobster traps by hand on the hottest day of the year ( 90+ ) and almost passing out each time I raised my head . While still trying to operate the boat .
