Global warming

I do agree that it's a good idea to have alternative energy. However the way we are going about it is crazy. The govt gives away guaranteed loans to solyndra as an example. We give away tax credits to buy electric vehicles which in most cases is still powered by carbon producing electric plants. If we want to reduce carbon the relative short term solution is nuclear. Longer term is to make alternative more efficient. We should do this by putting money into stem education. Give grants to colleges like MIT or Caltech etc to make alternative more efficient. Even if it doesn't succeed immediately we have educated engineers as a side effect.

As to property distribution sounds like you want communism. Tell you what you start and give away rights to use your car your house your stereo etc. Then let's see how that works.

im not sure about hte specifics, and im by no means an expert, but i know the governemtn gives alot of money to big oil which is terrible. i also know they give away money to tesla, which i am fine with. industries in america have always been subsidized and some subsidies are good, others are bad.

in terms of communism, the car coop is called "MODO". libraries is a communist way of sharing books, videos, and audio and its far more efficient. public transit is communist and shared and far more efficient than private car use.

The 97% of the people surveyed in that article THINK that man made global warming is real. Just because they are scientists doesn't mean their OPINION makes it true. True science is proving something. There is, to date, no proof that there is man made global warming. There really isn't any proof that there is any kind of global warming. Those that claim there are usually look back to a certain year (usually the coldest on record) and work from there so of course their research will show increases. And your arctic ice melt is an incomplete model. If you really dive into global warming research you will find that for every claim of ice melting, rivers drying up, etc. ect. there is an opposite event somewhere else on the planet. Scientists are to be respected for their SCIENTIFICALLY proven (meaning following "Scientific Method") findings but your survey is nothing more than an example of 97% of those surveyed saying that they THINK man is causing the Earth to warm more than nature does. But nice try though.

Currently the only way to gauge weather patterns is to look at weather records we've kept so far. Our records only account for a tiny (for lack of a better word) fraction of this planet's history. Man is incapable of accurately measuring current weather patterns against past patterns to determine any extent of damage man could be causing IF man made global warming was real. It's like looking at temperature increases from June to August and claiming the temperature will reach 200 degrees by December. The sun is the true cause of any weather fluctuations. The sun itself goes through warming and cooling periods. The Earth's weather patterns were drastically shifting back and forth for millions of years before man ever existed. Other planets in our solar system go through the same thing and no human being has set foot on any of them. Let alone lived there long enough to damage the climates.

These are things that many of those scientists purposely don't consider. Why? Because many of them rely on a flow of cash to fund their research and to deny man made global warming could cut their funding. Some are just using junk science. Either way there hasn't been, nor will there ever be, any proof that man is causing climate change. At least not on the scale that global warming alarmists claim.

there should be pictures of ice build up somewhere else that you should be able to point to if ur ponit is true. theres video online of the arctic ice melt over the decades. theres also video of increasing methane in the air over the decades. and this release of methane has happened in previous mass extinctions and the earth has warmed up by over 10 celcius before.

so if what u say is true then back it up with some links.

yes thats what 97% of climate scientists are saying now, and who knows they could be wrong and the sun could be revolving around the earth...

You were quick to find a link pointing to 97% of scientists in a survey saying they think global warming is man made. I'm sure you will have no trouble finding anything else you want. The burden to prove that its real is on your side and not mine. My side is still waiting for that proof.

Dear Thug, I see a lot of problems in your 'argument'. Reality is not your strong suite, and I doubt you would accept any 'proof' offered. NASA, DOD, Climatologists, Universities? They are all in agreement.

The thing that bothers me the most is your use of the term 'my side'. Aren't we all in this together? I always assumed we were on the same side, humanity and civilization. I guess you are on the 'other side', whatever that is.

We should likely err on the side of caution, since this is the only habitable planet in our solar system.

Problem is, we're spending way too much money fighting Muslims to pay any attention toward getting ourselves off the planet.

In either case, it's clear that global warming is a commie/socialist/Marxist plot to divert attention from more important things, like fighting Muslims.

And gay people. And unwed mothers.

And anyone who might need public assistance.

But, not corporations, obviously: it's clear to anyone who loves freedom that corporations should receive subsidies in the form of public assistance. Anything less would be anti-American, and anti-freedom.

So, yah, don't worry your pretty little head about the possibility that we'll divorce ourselves from the only planet we know.

(And so we answer our own question about why haven't we been visited by aliens...and the answer is they died in their own filth just like we will...)

no no, u should be able to name some names and put up some links. youve made a lot of assertions.

im sure you dont just read any old article that agrees with your intuition....

To which climate expert should I sent my winter heating bill to ?
We just had Right-to Work jammed down our throat in Wisconsin.

I'm proposing to my state senator and representative that they now pass Right-to-Pay My Utility Bill. Figure I can enjoy all the gas and electric I need and benefit from the utilities building new infrastructure and power plants all the while not having to pay for it. I'll just welch off those that choose to pay.

I will let you know how my proposal goes. Maybe you can get your state to pass the same kind of bill.

corporate senators are quick to encourage "freedom to choose" when it involves making things hard for unions. what about choice of free government run healthcare and free choice of hospital and doctor? then freedom becomes a bad thing.

I have 10 years of food in storage , so I don't have a food bill.
My heating bill is the only thing that someone else needs to pay .

Because Glenn Beck told you to store 10 years of food? rickyb makes a great point. "Freedom" is great , when it benefits the right people...like the rich, and it's wrong when it allows the little guy to have a level playing field/equal chance.

When the Commies attack, I'll just go to your house, blow you away, and take your food.

Silly Tea Party nut job.

I would have gone with Mitt Romney and the LDS told him to, you missed an opportunity there. :wink2:
Aren't they both LDS? Mitt and Glenn, I mean. I have no idea about the gounj.

As far as gounj's heating bill, I would have thought someone as intelligent as he would have prepared his home for the change in climate patterns. It sounds like he wants someone else to pay for 'his' heat. Communist. My heating/electric bill was under $120 last month in the upper Midwest. Sounds like gounj wants some welfare.

I prefer to eat fresh food, no need for a 10 year supply. I don't want to survive the apocalypse, I'm satisfied with the life I've lived. I would also like for my grandchildren to say the same thing, and say it an an old age, like me.

Beck converted to Mormonism a few years back. He has always been a M-O-R-O-N, however. Funny how his show is full of ads for dehydrated food, gold (when money goes away), etc. The fools buy it right up.

Interesting, I didn't know that... I haven't had cable television for a few years, and honestly I always found cable "news" personalities to be a little too loud and dramatic to stand for more than a few seconds at a time. I listened to Lars Larson for a while when I was driving for a small business 5 hours a night. The buy gold advertisements were endless.

More Evidence Of Climate Data Tampering By NOAA?
When Dr. Roy Spencer looked up summer temperature data for the U.S. Corn Belt, it showed no warming trend for over a century. But that was before temperatures were “adjusted” by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration climate scientists — now the same data shows a significant warming trend.

Spencer, a climate scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, said that the National Climatic Data Center made large adjustments to past summer temperatures for the U.S. Corn Belt, lowering past temperatures to make them cooler. Adjusting past temperatures downward creates a significant warming trend in the data that didn’t exist before.

Are you calling all the Mormons fools???? After all, they are probably the biggest percentage users of food storage stuff.
That's like calling Jews fools because they buy the most matzo ball soup.

And what proof would you accept to admit that global warming/climate change is fake?

You tell me. What evidence would convince you that it's fake?

No, but I'll gladly call you a fool for trying to tag me for making a false analogy. Glenn Beck has always been a maroon, even before he swigged the Kolob Kool-Aid.

Hell, I'll just cover my bases and call you a fool.
