Are you the same Moreluck that wants to keep the tax cuts for the rich, so they can opposingly create jobs , that is costing the government 100 Billion per year or 1 Trillion in a decade ?

Besides, you better start eating only foods imported from Mexico or South America in general, since North American Farmers are bailed out frequently with government subsidies or grants.

I'd be for a Flat or Fair tax. That would make every person pay their fair share and would increase revenues (like you want) and then the 50% of those who pay no taxes would be part of the recovery.

I think one of the selling points of the Fair/Flat tax is that it is supposed to be revenue neutral, ie, it won't increase revenues.

ATLANTA, Aug. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Two major trends were evident in AutoTrader.com's July Trend Engine report, which offers analysis of traffic to the site each month: shoppers continued to show interest in big trucks and SUVs despite relatively high gas prices, and the production shortages for new cars coupled with continued short supply of quality used cars have pushed asking prices higher across new, used and Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles.
Asking Prices Still on the Rise for Majority of New, Used and CPO.

Because it's not possible to build an electric car for only $9700, maybe ? Besides, it's only a 1.5 l motor, can't really get much smaller then that !

Next month the Volt is available in Canada - wonder how that will sell. But we are pretty much enviromental friendly, might just sell well.

But, it is bad timing. I wouldn't by a new car in the Fall. The winters are just too harsh here, ice, snow and salt.
Many drive winter beaters for that same reason, and leave the good car parked in the garage.

GM is going to build & sell cars aimed just for China (at first). How come they aren't cramming an elec. or hybrid car down their throats???

I realize knowledge isnt your guiding force, but China only has a small market for automobiles. Its still a poor nation and other automakers are "cramming" electric vehicles in china. From your own article:

Other automakers are also increasingly tailoring their production to the Chinese market. Nissan Motor Co. is planning to offer a China-produced ELECTRIC CAR to be sold under the low-priced Venucia brand, part of an $8 billion expansion plan with local partner Dongfeng Group.

It would be economic suicide for GM to try and compete in China with electric cars, since they are years behind the japanese and Koreans, but in the small gasoline powered market, they can compete in China in a small scale.

Profits my dear, thats what GM is trying to do.

I am sure you dont have a problem with corporate profits, do you?

Peace.

TOS, just like you told me, it's senseless trying to debate with hardcore right-wingers.

GM now the most selling car worldwide, and yet, they still think it was a mistake to bail them out.
Any other realistic analyst would say, it was the best thing the US government has done in decades !

GM is no farmers field, that needs a bail-out almost each and every year.
It was a 1 time investment, and it sure worked - better then expected !

Why they can't see that, is amazing. You need to be blind and deaf not to recognize how well GM came out of bankruptcy !

We probably have the same fine print contract, and nobody complains here.
Ask DS, he is from Ontario. That province also became a major shareholder of GM, and so did our federal government.

I have heard no complaints here up north at all, because we concentrate more on jobs, and not on deverse politics !
