Government Motors

Let's see. If you had your way, you would have let GM go under and let the free market determine what would follow. Never mind that there would have been a huge multiplier effect that shut down hundreds of suppliers worldwide resulting in the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs. This would have likely triggered a world-wide depression.

GM just became the world's #1 auto manufacturer, surpassing Toyota. They are making record profits and re-hiring workers to staff their plants. Most suppliers have stayed open, saving many jobs. Sounds to me like BHO did a pretty good job. Sorry you can't acknowledge a job well done, but even if he cured cancer, created world peace, and made America a better place, you could never give him credit, because to do so isn't part of the GOP plan.

You'll throw the entire country under the bus just to have a GOP president who will take us straight back to 2008. Smart, really smart.
G.M. would've come out of bankruptcy by themselves without this admin. sticking their noses in where they don't belong. They'd have been meaner and leaner and not be a slave to the gov't.
All those people who bought homes they couldn't afford needed to let "normal " take it's course. This housing bubble would've been done & gone already. The stupid gov't keeps trying to butt in where they don't need to.

What other business can they ruin before Nov.??

The argument that all these suppliers would go out of business if GM did is totally bogus. I have delivered to some of them, and my brother also works for GMAD (General Motors Assembly Division). Most of these companies build assemblies for non-union companies too.

(The Hill) — President Obama said that he gets “better as time goes on” at his job and that he believes the grassroots movement that propelled him to victory in 2008 will help him win a second term during an interview that aired Monday on NBC’s “Today Show.”

Let's see, thanks to him we own stock (1/3) of G.M. and we paid $53 for it. It's now worth about $26. Great businessman!!! He'll probably sell it to China for a loss to us.
G.M. is still in the hole to tax payers. Of the $51 B. given only $24 B. paid back and they'll pay no federal taxes for the next 2 years.

Tell that to the executives at Ford. They are on record as agreeing with that assessment. Yes, Ford, that epitome of American stand-on-your-own-two-feet.

UAW workers took huge paycuts in agreement with GM in order to keep it in business, with a promise from GM that if it profited in the future, the UAW workers would share in those profits to make up for the sacrifices in pay and hours.

The article re-frames the situation into a negative in order to pin back the ears of those whose eardrums only want to hear something negative.

Peace.

As far as I'm concerned, Moreluck, take 1 Million, or even 200.000 employees off payroll (don't pay taxes and instead collect unemployment). That would have costed more than $22 Billion by now, that`s not even accounting for more home foreclosures and a devasting sunk in real estate in the region.

Romney already frell on his ass saying he would rather see compnaies going bankrupt.
I hope he and Sani keeps it up.
Easier win for Obama !
