As far as I'm concerned, Moreluck, take 1 Million, or even 200.000 employees off payroll (don't pay taxes and instead collect unemployment). That would have costed more than $22 Billion by now, that`s not even accounting for more home foreclosures and a devasting sunk in real estate in the region.

Romney already frell on his ass saying he would rather see compnaies going bankrupt.
I hope he and Sani keeps it up.
Easier win for Obama !
I'm with Romney....natural consequences for things. GM would've risen from bancruptcy just fine. Obama's method is to throw more money on the problem. It's like giving everybody a gold star...NO! You have to work hard and work smart to be successful......not just "be" !!
Businesses succeed and businesses fail.............that's the way it goes.

Chevy Volt Fails To Make List of Top 12 “Greenest Vehicles” For 2012… Why exactly are taxpayers shelling out $10,000 per car?

For decades, the oil industry has forced our auto industry to back off hybrid cars and its clear the world is going in a different direction. The cost today may be large, but in the future, the investments made today in creating an electric car will bring down the price of innovation in the future.

Why not get on board with AMERICA and assist it into the future isnt of trying to keep us behind the competition?

GE Orders All Employees To Drive Chevy Volts…

MISLEADING HEADLINE ALERT!!!! MISLEADING HEADLINE ALERT!!!

If one were to go solely by the headline you would think that GE is mandating what kind of personal vehicles their employees would be allowed to drive; however, the mandate is only for those employees who drive company vehicles. Employees who choose not to drive a Volt would not be reimbursed for their expenses. Those who do will be reimbursed for public and home charging costs.

You make it sound like I wrote the headline. Here's the entire story from the site......if you have any further complaints, contact the author of the article, Shirley

GE Orders All Employees To Drive Chevy Volts…
That’s odd, why would GE pick the Chevy Volt as the company’s new official car?
General Motors and General Electric are two companies that have been in the political crosshairs lately. GM stands accused of “crony capitalism,” while GE is under fire for paying no Federal income taxes in 2010. The two companies share more than that though, with GE placing an order for 12,000 Chevy Volts and other hybrid vehicles.
A memo leaked to Green Car Reports lays out GE’s plans for their new fleet of Volts, and as expected, it has some people crying foul.
The memo, sent to employees of GE Healthcare Americas team explains that all sedan, crossover, and minivan purchases in 2012 will be replaced by the Chevy Volt. Only field engineers are excepted from having to drive a company Volt.
GE will offer estimates for installation Level 2 Charging Stations, though all-gas use will be allowed when there is no electric option. Any employees who opt out of the Volt program will not be compensated for their expenses. Those who do choose to drive the Volt will be reimbursed for public charging and home charging costs, in addition to gas uses.
While some people are probably put off by having to drive a Volt, GE claims to have crunched the numbers and believes that in the long term, this will save the multi-national company big bucks. More than that though, GE is positioning itself as a big player in the EV charging market. Getting employees into Volts also means getting charging stations into homes.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed that the number of new diesel cars sold is now higher than 50% of the total market share. In January 2012 53.7% of all new car purchases were for diesel cars. On top of this, SMMT figures show that demand for alternatively fuelled cars increased by more than 17.7% in January 2012, now accounting for 1.6% of the total new car market.

[h=1]Audi Introduces New Bi-Turbo Diesel V6 in UK[/h]Those included in the list are the A6 sedan, A6 Avant, Allroad Quattro and A7 Sportbacks. Next spring U.K. customers can look forward to those cars sporting the option of Audi’s most powerful V6 diesel to date. The 3.0-liter bi-turbo oil burner will have 309 horsepower and 479 ft-lb of torque. That will be enough to propel the A6 Quattro from 0-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds, while the A6 Avant and A7 will get there in 5.3.
An A6 diesel has long been rumored for the US, but the date keeps scooting out of sight.

Electric cars are far from becoming the main mode of transportation in the future. Our electrical grids simply don't have the excess capacity to supply the energy needs of a populace using mostly electric cars, not to mention our lives are built around cars that only take a few minutes to refuel and even with todays advances in batteries and charging the best we can hope for is a 45 minute quick charge and that is with a 480 volt charging station that is simply not widely available. If Obama really wanted to decrease our dependence on foreign oil and create a demand for a cleaner burning alternative fuel all he has to do is sign an executive order stating that all future vehicle purchases made by the federal government must be vehicles that run on CNG (compressed natural gas). That would cause more manufacturers to offer CNG powered vehicles as well as stimulate gas stations to add CNG pumps. We have an over abundance of CNG in this country (about 100 years worth readily available with much more yet to be tapped), and if we let the world know that our future transportation needs would be met with CNG it would cause an immediate drop in the price of oil while at the same time greatly reducing our importation of oil from countries that hate us.
