How's North Carolina TEST STATION doing??

Way easier? Are you kidding? Do you realize what their SPH expectations are?

And in 2009 with a Democratic president coming in and a democratic congress in place there was talk of the contractor model being a target. Nothing ever happened though.
If Bernie wins and we take back the Senate, it will be gone.

No. It’s not justification. Are you telling me they haven’t been doing it? 8 pm commit times really shouldn’t be a problem.
8PM should be doable, but the long standing problem is Express’ habitually late freight and the service that's most affected is priority overnight, an expensive premium service. Their percentage of successful priority deliveries is not that impressive.

The Sander’s presidency will be VERY important.

Once it inevitably fails, it will finally show middle America that the two party system can’t save them.

Once a “socialist” is voted in and doesn’t accomplish anything, people may get the hint they will have to engage in social activism if they truly covet change.

His own party has pretty much said his policies wouldn’t be enacted, even if the Dem’s ruled both houses of Congress - sad.

Most thought a narcissistic, racist, xenophobic, and homophobic " self claimed $billionaire" wouldn't be elected either.

You're saying all the little stations around the country will send P-2 freight off by truck to a Ground station for further distribution rather than sent to the ramp, flown to a hub, routed to destination in separate containers, and then brought to Ground hubs? How will they possibly get freight delivered ontime? People are paying for Express service and Ground is supposed to be taking over "the last mile."

My mistake, the freight will be trucked from the origin ramp, not station.

The freight that can make service being trucked from the origin ramp will be trucked to the proper Ground terminal. Express retains the rest. For example, a resi that orginates in LA that is going to NYC.

I didn’t say he won’t be elected (I think he probably will be).

I said his changes of enacting his policies once elected are pretty much zero, even if the Dem’s control both houses of Congress.

If they control both, all bets are off considering the Drumpf years.

I thought this was about "last mile" delivery. I thought they would still fly the freight to the destination city, then hand it off to Ground for delivery. Is that not the case?

No.

If not, will customers be charged FedEx Ground rates for the shipments since it won't be flown?

No. Why would you expect to pay a Ground rate when you select, and choose to pay, an Express rate?

I agree, but I could see eventually a class action lawsuit by customers who get charged air rates when it was never put on a plane to begin with.

LOL. There are no air rates. You get charged a price for the service you want. You want it there the next day by 8PM? Here's how much it is.

Why on earth would anyone give a ratsass what mode of transportation their package enjoyed as long as it arrives by its commit time?

Like Dano says, the customer is paying for a service. Nowhere (that I’ve ever seen anyway) is it stated that their package is going for an airplane ride. It’s called Priority Overnight, not FedEx Next Day Air.

Express has already been operating this way for decades.

This is like......really kinda dumb.

Article from 2018 a little dated. If amazon so hard why do I see female drivers everywhere??Ground has a SERIOUS competitor in hiring drivers. Good luck finding all people u need for the Millions of packages on the way. No Express driver will ever go to GROUND.

Because customers that ship FedEx are given a choice to ship with either Express or Ground. If you go on the website it will breakdown the cost and transit time for each opco. So if a customer chooses Express Saver vs Ground, they are choosing the Express division to del that product at a higher cost.

Good point. I wonder if they even bothered to run this latest scheme past the regulators to see if it will be granted approval ? Or perhaps it really is the "Hail Mary" it appears to be?

Problem is, 99.9% of resi's don't even realize Express and ground are different. They see a FedEx logo'd truck pull up, within the commitment window and they're good with it.
