I wonder what kind of turtle that is? I've only seen box turtles or snapping turtles.

I'm not sure. He had kind of a long snout with two visible nostrils, almost like a little pig nose.

If that's a bog turtle, good save. They're critically endangered.

Looking at some turtle pics now he resembles the snapping turtle more than anything. Though he didn't have the big claws or a long tail. Maybe too young if that's what he was. Shell was probably about 8 inches across.

It compressed the photo when I sent it from my phone so it looks pretty bad here. I remember looking for the beak when I saw him but he didn't seem to have one. Zooming in on the original pic now he actually kinda looks like he does.
