I wonder what kind of turtle that is? I've only seen box turtles or snapping turtles. Was driving along and saw this guy trying to cross the road. Had to stop and move him to the other side.

I'm not sure. He had kind of a long snout with two visible nostrils, almost like a little pig nose.I wonder what kind of turtle that is? I've only seen box turtles or snapping turtles.
I blame it on the cupracobraI'm not sure. He had kind of a long snout with two visible nostrils, almost like a little pig nose.
If that's a bog turtle, good save. They're critically endangered.I'm not sure. He had kind of a long snout with two visible nostrils, almost like a little pig nose.
Looking at some turtle pics now he resembles the snapping turtle more than anything. Though he didn't have the big claws or a long tail. Maybe too young if that's what he was. Shell was probably about 8 inches across. If that's a bog turtle, good save. They're critically endangered.
Can't tell from your pic but did it have that top hook on its mouth?Looking at some turtle pics now he resembles the snapping turtle more than anything. Though he didn't have the big claws or a long tail. Maybe too young if that's what he was. Shell was probably about 8 inches across.
It compressed the photo when I sent it from my phone so it looks pretty bad here. I remember looking for the beak when I saw him but he didn't seem to have one. Zooming in on the original pic now he actually kinda looks like he does. Can't tell from your pic but did it have that top hook on its mouth?
They call us snowflakes.Snow fairy?
Here's a pic of a young snapper I just found online.
Glad you cleared that up for us.
I didn't know what a whipper snapper looked like. You're still missing one. But I digress
