It’s ok. I’d feel same way trying to deliver in most major cities. Last time I was in Seattle i wondered where in hell did you park to delivery resi in some dense neighborhoods…
This was easy. Bumpy, slow, but easy. Lock in the hubs and slow march it down the road. Ease in and out of each big melted spot. It’s a sloppy time of year but the flip side is winter is done. Glad it was near end of day or load would be jumbled mess! But I only had about eight left.
I mean, we hope winter is done….I used to umpire fast pitch softball, had entire day of high school games cancelled one Saturday…in May!

And you say your route is not in the middle of nowhere…what do the routes in Alaska look like that are in the middle of nowhere??

There aren’t any roads in the middle of nowhere. But this is the edge of nowhere. Basically if the homeowner can drive in and out routinely then I should be able to deliver.
Up till last contract my route was on the boundary where service with UPS Teamsters ends…we added one more route of territory on last contract cycle and hope to push for much more of the remaining road system this time.
We forward a lot of our packages to villages via the same various air cargo and small airlines that are generally the only way in and out of town. Other remote places that are on the road system are delivered by contractor.

Crazy. You know anybody who lives in any of those villages? I couldn’t imagine life there.

I can’t remember what state it was in but I read a while back they had to change the address because they were having issues with people stopping by and taking pictures.

Cute car. We don't have anything that small in our center as far as package cars go. We do have a few vans but the smallest we run are 800s.

We have a lot of 800s, 1000s, and 1200s. I'm on a remote route that even the new 600s don't fit in.
