Hi everybody!
I am in need of advice about a situation regarding working as a seasonal peak worker at UPS. I have worked for UPS two previous peak seasons, 2020 and 2021. I was a driver helper but had always wanted to do personal vehicle delivery. This year, I was lucky enough to receive an email from UPS announcing that they had positions open for personal vehicle delivery and inviting me to apply. Finally, I was going to get the job I wanted. Iwas really hoping that I would not only work peak, but that I could also find a way to obtain a permanent driving role in the process. However, when I went to orientation my name was not in the list. The employee who checked us in said not to worry, that the list was probably just not updated. But I wanted to know for sure. I tried contacting UPS to request my rehire status but just got a generic response that basiballu told me to find a jobi was qualified for and apply. Which was no help at all. It didnt even answer my question. Anyways, I finally recieved an email last week that offered me explanation into what had happened. I got an email from First Advantage letting me know that they had completed my background search and they had found a record. A little background, I had some rough years where I did indeed get in trouble. Made some bad choices but I had done all my time, completed probation for everything, AND paid all my restitution, which altogether was a pretty big chunk of money. In 2022, I petitioned to have each record expunged and dismissed. First I had all felonies dropped to misdemeanors. And then I had each one dismissed. It was a long process but I knew it was necessary if I ever wanted to move forward with my life. So, it was definitely a surprise to find out they managed to obtain that record and report it to UPS. But not a good surprise at all. I was relying on that job to go through and give me work until I found something permanent. I was laid off my last job in May and have been struggling to make ends meet as is. My unemployment ended the week before this job was supposed to start. So it was going to work out perfectly until this wrench got thrown in the mix. To find out it was due to a clerical error is extremely frustrating. I have had other companies run my background since it was expunged and it came back all clear. I even double checked the court website to make sure I didnt miss anything. And I saw that I was right and that specific record had been expunged. Totally devastating news! My dream job and the possiblity of permanent employment all thrown out the window due to an error or oversight. My reputation I had built for two previous seasons was stripped away from me.×a
Sorry for the novel but I promise I am wrapping it up right now. My question is, is there anything I can do to fix this? I have a feeling its too pate to fix for this season whicg totally bums me out. But if anyone knows someone atUPS who can help me work this out, I would be forevet grateful. I am trying to stay positivd but life is really hard right now. And this is a bloe to my self-esteem and motivation. It just feels like the universe is against me working there. But I am not ready to give up just yet. So please if you have any advice or have been in a similar situation please let me know. Even if its jhst words if encouragement, I can use all yhe help I can get.
Thanks in advance!

You’re beat.
UPS would and did hire anyone during the pandemic.
The pandemic is over.
UPS doesn’t have as much volume, and doesn’t need just anyone anymore, they are going back to being selective.

Peak will be over before you get it resolved. I wouldn't stress too much about a job that will be over in 3 weeks.
Yeah I figured as much. Just trying to figure out if I am blacklisted forever or if I could still get a job there. Because as I mentioned, my goal was to work my way into a permanent driving position. So just trying to figure out if its even worth pursuing now.
